Avista was the perfect choice for our last lunch of 2024! From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—our server kindly offered to take my coat, a thoughtful and unique gesture in Madeira. The breathtaking view from the restaurant added an extra layer of magic to the experience, making it truly unforgettable. The food was an absolute delight, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic time and couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the year. Highly recommended!

Fine dining in a beautiful location. The view from the terrace is breathtaking! The courses were tasty, creative and beautifully arranged. Interesting flavor combinations and a great variety of textures. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch to enjoy the full potential of the sea view! The price is also reasonable and the service was lovely!

Incredible service and food. We had a special request which they were more than happy and excited to accommodate and helped create a beautiful moment to find out the gender of our baby.

A wonderful evening from start to finish, the cocktails in the lounge were delicious with a stunning view. All dishes we had were bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. Generous portions.

We couldn't have asked for a better setting for such a special moment.

Gorgeous restaurant with amazing views. Excellent service and fantastic food. What more can you ask for? Highlights include the beef tartare, croquettes and the duck. We went for lunch, made a reservation an hour before seating and the restaurant was completely empty and we got one of the best seats on the terrace. The cocktails were fantastic, my favorite being one of the signature cocktails Calheta Sour. The service was fine for Madeira standards, which can notoriously be slow. Would come back for dinner if we had more time on the island

A gorgeous restaurant with a terrace overlooking the ocean. The ambience is superb especially with the DJ in the lounge area (right next to the restaurant area), who was playing cool tunes. The menu is varied and offers a large selection - everything we've tried was delicious. Service is friendly and attentive. After dinner we "retired" to the lounge area which has several tables that are quite isolated from each other for a  post-dinner drink.  Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. We will certainly be back.
