Possibly the best schnitzel I had in Stockholm. Portions are huge and with massive amount of potatoes.

You can treat yourself with a big glass of urquell or pick your favorite Czech/German beer from the nice selection of beers.

I loved my experience here. The atmosphere is cosy, warm and totally inviting.

The waiting staff are true professionals and have great banter with the customers.

The food is European with a strong focus on German dishes as well as some old school Swedish dishes. I tried the ham and cheese schnitzel which was big, bold and utterly satisfying. It came with sauerkraut, pickles and some delightful roasted potatoes, the whole dish worked in harmony.

This old school establishment reminds us that sometimes simple and honest cooking is the best. I'll be coming back, for sure.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at the counter at Lilla Ego. We were lucky to get a reservation the night of - every dish was a hit, with complex and harmonious flavours taking cues from Nordic and Japanese cuisine, and perfect execution. Unequivocally one of the best meals we’ve had— every dish was a party in our mouths. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was vibrant yet intimate. We ordered the marinated tuna, the pork rillette, the blackened sirloin & the pork belly— all were 10/10 but we thought the tuna stole the show. The little sourdough roll with butter, sunflower seeds and parmesan they bring you at the start was so tasty, as well. We had the goat cheese creme brulee for desert and it was fantastic. Furthermore, it was reasonably priced. They had a top tier wine list, as well. It can be tough to get a reservation and it’s abundantly clear why. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The food is awesome and the service is good too but the environment is a bit too crowded. Table spacing is too tight it might make you feel a bit stressed and quite noisy in the restaurant. Other than that everything is good. It’s a small restaurant with really good food. The toilet is not clean I was a bit afraid to go in to be honest but I don’t have any other choice🥲

So Lilla Ego is worth all the hype and is definitely worth a visit. It's a small place but without the annoying noise levels you would normally expect. The service was lovely, our waitress was attentive and the wait times were very reasonable. Now the dishes look like Michelin Star dishes, and most of them were quite tasty, but I have to admit that the portions were quite small. We had starter, main, and desert, and I had to have another snack when we left 😅 Overall if you want the Michelin experience without paying an arm and a leg, this is the place to go.
