The elevated Mexican food was very good. Surprisingly the pasta (cappelletti) was my favorite, but the rich salsas and the pastrami in the tacos were also good. The pastrami tacos are large and filling. The carrot salad, while tasty, wasn't really a salad, just carrots on coconut cream.

The service was very attentive. While there is plenty of space between tables, the place is very loud and didn't feel intimate.

Empellon is a fantastic choice for a higher end Mexican restaurant and/or a work/event lunch. The three course lunch menu offers plenty of options and each dish was aesthetically plated and well flavored. I really enjoyed my meal here! Make sure you order the "avocado dessert" -- a quasi off-menu item. It's very unique.

A nice high end Mexican spot with a very nice interior in a large space, prices are on the high end because of this. The guacamole was very fresh and the presentation was stellar, the give you a bunch of different sauces to try from mild to very hot. Tacos were overpriced, more than 20 for 2 fish tacos. Definitely try out the dessert, the flan was very good!

Jag hade en helt underbar matupplevelse på Empellón Midtown; en sann pärla för upphöjd mexikansk mat i hjärtat av staden. Från början till slut var allt exceptionellt. 

Jag började med Crab Nachos med Sea Urchin "Queso", och wow! vilken unik och överdådig twist på en klassisk rätt. Det satte tonen för en smakrik kväll. Till varmrätten avnjöt jag Branzino Alcaparrado, vackert tillagad och perfekt balanserad med sina djärva, salta smaker, parat med härligt krispiga brysselkålar som sprudlade av karaktär. Jag avslutade min måltid med Creamy Avocado Dessert, som var förvånansvärt lätt, sammetslen och en härlig final. 

Det som gjorde kvällen ännu mer minnesvärd var den varma och uppmärksamma servicen. Hela teamet var älskvärd, vänlig och genuint serviceinriktad. Ett särskilt tack till Genc Islami, chefen för service och gästfrihet, vars närvaro och ledarskap tydligt återspeglades i varje interaktion. Caroline, chefen, var otroligt söt och härlig, hennes värme verkligen stod ut. Och Hernan, servitören, tog väl hand om oss med charm och professionalism. 

Empellón Midtown är mer än bara en restaurang; det är en upplevelse. Jag kan inte vänta med att återvända!

Första gången vi åkte var det mycket gott, särskilt den förvånansvärt läckra blomkålssoppan. Den här gången var tomaterna vi blev lovade i säsong och underbara var så undermogna att de såg ut som Subwaytomater. Ersättningskålsalladen med rostade bondbönor var i grunden en mild coleslaw med för många kotletter knapriga salta bönor ovanpå. Kjolbiffstacos har en något söt sås och inte bra tortillas; våra lokala ställen är bättre till halva priset för 50 % mer. Citrusflan var mer en pannacotta med okej apelsinkrämig anglaise och en udda pastig apelsinhätta som inte gav någon smak. Jag skulle inte gå tillbaka bara för den fina inredningen.

En populär restaurang för umgänge som serverar amerikanska mexikanska rätter. Guacamole kom med en mängd olika såser med skala av värme. Tacos var god smak och nötköttet var bra. Servicen var snabb och snabb. Miljön var en öppen och högljudd plats! Priset var i toppklass!

Guacamole är lätt att hitta, men denna generösa portion för två kommer med stora chips och sju såser från mild till mycket varm. Bra start på middagen. Förrätter var bra. Mycket goda tacos och en pastarätt med pumpa cappelletti (fancy ravioli? ) . Även om jag inte är vegetarian tillät denna pumpafrörätt mig att prova något nytt och mycket uppskattat. Vi hade platsen rekommenderas av en lokal och kom med stora förväntningar. Först fick vi ett bord i en chambre separe, bort från den livliga restaurangen. Vi bad om ett annat bord och det var ordnat. Denna restaurang serverar kryddig, pikant (picante) mat för det mesta. Queso fundido ($24) var väldigt annorlunda med röd & grön korv & ost. . tortillasen är goda (men för flera år sedan hade de en tung "masasmak" vilket jag älskar) , har inte längre den tunga smaken. Carb nachos ($ 36 ) var olika & ganska bra & kryddig. Brusselkål ($ 15 ) var också ganska bra. Bronzino ($ 44 ) var genomsnittlig och räkorna ($ 56 ) var bra. 

Rimlig vinlista och inte för dyrt. 

Lokalen är trevligt, men bullrigt. Servicen var ganska bra av Angelica och hennes hjälpare.

Vi åkte dit i går kväll (lördag) med några vänner och i baren och värdställningen var mycket trevlig och uppmärksam på oss men sedan fick vi vårt bord och servitrisen (blond, ung, tunn tjej) gjorde ingenting för oss förutom att ta beställningen, rekommendera aldrig något för oss, aldrig riktigt pratat med någon på bordet, inte bjudit på en andra drink eller om vi åtnjuter maten, ingenting, riktigt dålig service! Vi var tvungna att be så många gånger om vatten och maten tog alltid för att komma till bordet som var lite kallt så vi inte kunde njuta alls. Tyvärr var det en dålig upplevelse för oss och inte bra service alls för en $ 600-check. Kommer inte tillbaka!

Middagen var fantastisk!

Vi hade guacamole, kålsallad (per server rekommendation) och fisk tacos. Allt var välsmakande och jag måste säga att jag inte tänkte att kålsalaten skulle vara lika bra som den var. Margaritas var också väldigt läckra. Utrymmet är väl gjort och det finns en livlig, opretentiös känsla. Så en fantastisk plats i Midtown.

Vi reserverade online och var bra. Stämningen var trevlig och maten var god. Jag väljer en Chardonnay.

Hade att öka feststorleken sista minuten. Empellon var tillmötesgående, även om jag skulle notera att menyn för familjestil är det enda som är tillgängligt för en stor grupp. De kommer inte billigt, men de är roliga. Börjad med margaritas och guacamole, flyttade till kål sallad och klibbigt ris, sedan Tacos, huvudrätt och avokado yoghurt. Alla hade en annan favorit, men något för alla. Vi hade en gäst med allergier och de gick ut ur deras sätt att göra särskilda rätter.

Unquestionably, one of the best meals I've ever had. And to say the star of the show was a bowl of tomato soup, sounds ridiculous, but it is transcendent! I will forever dream about this bowl of soup and hope to one day be able to return for one more spoonful. It was unlike any bowl of tomato soup I've ever had. It was light and refreshing, and filled my body and soul with utter joy!
I do love a grilled salad, and the grilled iceberg lettuce with baked cod did not disappoint. The two elements with what initially appeared to be potato wedges, turned out to be light and flaky pastry. I may have licked my plate!
The struva with duck liver was crispy and savory, creamy and delectable. We had to stop ourselves from having just one, they are that good.
The friendly staff, the warm environment, and the unique and tasty cocktails made for a perfect final meal in Stockholm. And it's one of the reasons I'll be returning just as soon as I can. If there had been a cookbook in English with that soup recipe inside, I would have certainly brought that home with me to try my best at recreating those flavors. I highly recommend the Struva with duck liver, especially delightful when generously topped with Parmesan cheese! The thinly sliced raw beef with Jerusalem artichoke is also quite tasty and pairs well with the ground hazelnut. However, I would not recommend the ravioli as it doesn't match the authentic Italian style; the filling is bland, and the wrap is not al dente at all, and easily breaks apart. The pork belly is average—good, but nothing surprising.

We had a great dinner here. Service was amazing - really warm, attentive and personable. Soda pop cocktail also really nice (my husband says it's the best cocktail he's ever had). Food is artfully done and quite creative - standouts would be the green tomato soup (creamy while still light and full of flavour) and the thinly sliced beef with artichokes (so umami).

This was such an unforgettable culinary experience, a perfect combination of flavours, mixing of ingredients , coupled with exquisite presentation. We were a group of three who ordered various dishes, all shared which maximised our ability to try as many dishes as possible. Every dish WOW’ed us.

Hyped by the recommendations online and the great rating on Google I was really excited to try out this seemingly high class restaurant.
And yes, on the surface everything appeard to be perfect. The location is designed very stylishly and classy, the staff is well trained and accommodating, the cocktails are delicious (!) and the presentation of the food is very inviting.

But were it failed for me was the actual food itself, the flavours, the most important part about a restaurant.

As recommended I ordered 1 dish from each of the 4 groups (snack, starter, main, dessert).

As a snack I went for the signature hasselback potatoes. As mentioned the presentation was delightful and I had high hopes for these ones so you can imagine my disappointment when I bit into the first one and tasted... barely anything. The potatoes were cold (I guess that's a choice) hard and chewy and the only flavour came from the sour cream.
I thought maybe the chef just had a bad day but the few low-rating-reviews on here agree with me so I am not the only one.

Next the lemon cured mackerel.
I could kind of taste the idea behind the dish but even for me as a salt lover this dish was almost inedible because it was so salty. I know a lot of people who couldn't have finished it.

As my main I chose the pork chop which tasted alright but not special and the mix of different ingredients didn't work together very well for me.

The dessert was good but you can't really mess up ice cream and berries.

I really don't know if I caught a bad day, if my taste works differently from most reviewers or if everyone simply thinks they have to give 5 stars because it's a posh restaurant with fancy looking and sounding food.

Very disappointing and not worth the money (except for the cocktails!).
