After many recommendations on social media and in person we decided to try Lola’s to ease our Mexican cravings.

We came around 5pm and were pleased about the happy hour cocktails(4pm-7pm). Drinks were very enjoyable and would recommend coming for an afternoon drink.

Our food arrived fast and the staff were very friendly!! Unfortunately In my opinion the food was flavourless. I didn’t finish my meal as I did not enjoy the food. Mexican food is known for flavour and spice and you cannot find this here. We tried burritos, tacos and Mexican fries to try get a wide range of the menu.

The atmosphere was great, with an indoor outdoor feeling. Music was good and was well decorated!!

Definitely would go back for the margaritas but will dine elsewhere.

Lovely place that was recommended to us by a local.
Very busy with lots people coming and going. We didn't book and didn't have to wait long.
Friendly people and quick service which was surprising.
The food was relatively well priced and I liken the food to be almost like a Tapas style, which is good as you get to try different food.
I thought the food was flavoursome and tasty, was it authentic, well it was their take on it and it worked.
Drinks were tasty and they offered a good selection too.
Well worth a visit.

Love the food and menu at this place! I love the vegan options for cheese and sour cream (I’m not vegan but dairy hurts my stomach). We’ve been here twice now and both meals were delicious. Highly recommend. Seems super busy in the night time so we found it easy to get a spot around 4-6pm. Also you get a free taco if you fill out the survey which is a cool incentive. The baja chipotle taco was awesome but small portion!

Unfortunately i only had one photo because i was busy enjoying the moment at this heavenly place!
Love the vibes and the food! It was amazing!
Definitely look for Mei, the front of house! She’s super friendly and gives good recommendations on what to try out at this place! If only i could give 10 stars for her service!

3.5 stars if I could. The service was awesome! Quick to seat us, take our order and bring out the food. The servers were checking up on us - 5 stars for them! But the food just lacked any excitement. Not too much flavour. The restaurant is right by a busy road so hard to have flowing conversation with motorcycles zooming by. Would have been great if the tables were on the other side of the bar to look out onto the field and a little further away from the noise.

Crate Cafe has this laid back and very chill ambience with its large tables and benches that encourage sharing and forging new friendships. Hearty breakfasts and healthy juices are enjoyed either outdoors or indoors. For a power brunch to last the whole day, I recommend either the Barber or the Brekkie Plate. The service at Crate Cafe was also top-notch. The staff was quick and friendly, making sure that all my needs were met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to answer any questions I had. Their warm and welcoming attitude added to the overall positive experience.

If you're considering a visit to Crate, you might want to think twice. While the restaurant has a vibrant presence on social media, the experience in person leaves much to be desired.

Upon arrival, be prepared to wait in line for about 20 minutes to then be able to get a seat, at a shared table. The staff's communication can also be puzzling; we were informed that our table was booked, despite the fact that reservations aren’t accepted. It was frustrating to see others being seated there without any clarity and when confronted the staff he then replied with “ what you want me to do”.

As for the food, the wait time of 40 minutes for something as simple as eggs on toast felt excessive, food is blunt, no taste no seasoning.. like literally not even salt and pepper.. I had to add some to be able to eat it… it definitely didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Overall, Crate seems to prioritize its trendy image over delivering a seamless dining experience. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a relaxed meal with good service, there are definitely better options out there. Bali is filled with great restaurants and good food. I wouldn’t recommend it based on my visit..
