What an amazing experience! If you like tapas style food, this restaurant is highly recommended.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and authentic. The wine selection is comprehensive with excellent recommendations on what to order according to our budget.

The highlight is the food - small sharing portions that were nothing less than marvelous. Including the desserts.

Back in Alta after 2 years and a pandemic.  It was still outstanding in every way.  The place hides a gallery of seating in a big space through a bar and behind an almost hidden entrance.  It’s tapas – don’t expect huge portions.  You are in the wrong place if that is what you want.  But it nicely avoids the tapas clichés of potatas bravas and tortilla.  Every dish we had was outstanding.  It is hard to pick out the best, but the smoked trout and black cod fritters, gnocchi, and sprouts were completely lovely.  The wine by the glass choices were excellent.  Service was attentive but not fussy.  We particularly like the pacing of the dishes – there was an appropriate time between each so as not to feel rushed or neglected.  We will go back before 2 more years have elapsed!

This tapas place is hidden in the residential blocks and no visible signage out there. When we walked in, there a long walkway with the bar on the right hand side. A decent size of dining room and also a mezzanine for a few more tables. Two of us arrived early and ordered two cocktails while waiting for the group. We ordered 6 appetizers to share to begin with, fair portion size but food are delicious. We also ordered 3 entrees to share plus desserts. Decent prices and average $55 per person not including cocktails. Great place to date!

The food is creative and tasty, what could you want more? So we pretty much ordered the entire menu and it showed the depth of the food. However, the chef that was there who prepared the menu we had is no longer there, so there might be a variance in what's offered now compared to what's pictured. The service is pretty good, but the food is definitely something you want to repeat.

Although it's tapas style, you'll feel full by the end. The atmosphere is also  boisterous so you can come here with a large group, but make a reservation or you might not get seated in reasonable time.

We had a group of 12 and ate everything on the menu. Many of the dishes are done very well. I really enjoyed Fried Hen of the woods, arugula, Brussel sprouts. The server was very kind. We came pretty late in the night and he was very accommodating and did not make us feel rushed at all.

Dining at Alta: Trendy NYC Restaurant in Manhattan

Underbara tapas som var rik på smak. Vänlig service. Njöt av Philly-överraskningen och lammköttbullarna var väl gjort. Missa inte korta revben.

Vår familj hade en fin upplevelse i detta dolda matställe på en söndag kväll. Middagen med "liten tallrik" var väl förberedd, servicen vänlig och uppmärksam. Restaurangen föreslog ett gott vin i samma prisklass när den begärde inte var tillgänglig. "Små tallrikar" motsvarar inte en liten totalräkning, men det var i vår kontroll, eller hur? Menyn är spännande och varierande. Det absolut godaste vi åt var de grillade räkorna samt brysselkålen. Carpaccion var god men stack inte ut och lammköttbullarna var sisådär. Jättebra och uppmärksam service. Vacker men stimmig lokal. Vi var där en lördagkväll, och runt 19-20 började det bli fullt, och då var det tidvis svårt att höra vad den andre sa. 



Mycket attraktivt barområde med matbord fördelat på tre våningar. Vi försökte en mängd olika tapas: stekt getost med lavendel honung, bacon inslagna fikon, paella, seared kammusslor, grillad räkor med chorizo. Var och en var fantastiskt. Också goda cocktails och vinlista. Jeremy, vår server, var vänlig och uppmärksam. Rekommenderas starkt.

Jag har varit i denna restaurang flera gånger och tycker att det är konsekvent utmärkt. Vi gick på tidigt sida (5: 45) före en jazzprestation och kunde sitta precis vid eldstaden. Med 4 personer, vi försökte flera små saker samt underbar grillad räkor på avokado, lamm tagine och crunchy asperagus.

Vi hamnade i Alta av misstag, och det visade sig som en stor överraskning. Maten var fantastisk, små plattor men allt i en tapas restaurangs anda. Rimligt prissatta och god atmosfär övergripande, med tanke på att det var en söndagskväll. De tar bara Amex eller kontanter, så var beredda om du planerar ett besök.

Perfekt tapas bar väl gömd i bostadsområde. Fantastisk inredning. Personal professionell och mycket hjälpsam. För många läckra objekt på menyn för att rekommendera. Prova alla! Om du gillar tapas, och vill känna att du är i Madrid, passera inte denna plats. Vi kommer tillbaka nästa besök i NYC!

Jag älskade Alta! Den har en riktigt bra meny med många alternativ för köttätare. Vi hade en mycket hjälpsam servitris som kunde ge råd om menyalternativ samt vin. Inställningen är intressant; vi hade en bra plats i galleriet. Mitt enda lilla klagomål var att belysningen var verkligen för mörk. Men detta borde inte vara avstängd. Bra Tapas stil restaurang med flera våningar och hemtrevliga atmosfären. Maten var helt otroligt. Servitörerna var mycket kunniga och uppmärksam. Jag skulle vilja säga få om 3 - 4 rätter per person som dessa är mindre tallrikar.
