Best Chinese food I have ever had in my life! There can be a wait and there almost always will be because the food is that good. It was about a 30 minute wait to get a table. It is a very loud atmosphere so be very mindful of that.

I tried to recap everything we ate as it is a literal feast whenever we are at Joe’s Shanghai. My family loves hosting a big gathering once in a year there.

Trust me, I’ve tried most items on their menu over years, the food and service never disappoint. it is difficult to recall a dish that we dislike.

If I have to nitpick, their dishes are quite oily sometimes, which are expected in an old style chinese restaurant. It could be a pain to wait for a table at peak hours as it is too popular among locals and tourists.

To me, the star of the show is definitely their Sweet Red Bean Pancake (豆沙窩餅). It was served warm. The golden wrapper was soft while the red bean paste was not too sweet. I make sure to reserve stomach room for it every time.

Food is pretty good. Service is pretty good but I will say the wait is crazy. We waited about an hour and 45 minutes. Luckily there’s a place next-door to grab a drink while you wait. So either make a reservation if they take reservations or be ready to wait. We did go on a Saturday night and it was a table of six. Was it worth it? I would say kinda sorta only because we were starving. But if you’re really into Chinese food, you’ll be happy.

10/10!! Chinatowns best restaurant. It’s been two days and we are still talking about how amazing the food was. Soup dumplings are a must when visiting, the orange crispy beef was AMAZING. Line was so long but SO worth it. Cash only, but they do have an ATM!

The food was very good. It was reasonably price as well. The service was not bad. The atmosphere was loud but not too bad. We went on a very hot day and the restaurant was cold. The duck and the soup dumplings were excellent. The spicy shrimp was also a great dish. The only reason I didn’t give them five star is the service was rushed and when they returned my change they shorted me 5 dollars.

Verkligen haft min måltid här. Maten kom ut snabbt varm och fylld med smak. Portioner är stora nog att dela, vilket gör det bra för grupper eller alla som gillar att prova lite av varje. Priserna var förvånansvärt rimliga också, särskilt med tanke på hur generösa serveringarna är. 

Och ölen? Billigast jag sett i New York, ingen tvekan. 

Bara en heads up men det är bara kontanter. De har några bankomater inuti, så det är lätt nog att ta några om du glömmer, men det är bra att veta innan du går. 

Totalt sett bra atmosfär, god mat och fast värde. Jag skulle definitivt komma tillbaka.

Mycket upptagen men väntade bara ca 15 minuter för bord för 4 . 
Inne i en surrande atmosfär känns det dock som att sitta i ett kylskåp - bär en tröja / hoodie. 
Matportioner är stora - vi kunde lätt ha haft en måltid mellan 2 av oss. 
Inga knivar bara ätpinnar - var beredd på det. 
Endast kontanter men bra som bankomat vid dörren.

Vi hittade först denna restaurang tillbaka i december 2022 när du bor på hotellet intill. Vi gjorde lite research och såg att det kom starkt rekommenderat men som alltid har alla olika smak och förväntningar så vi gav det ett försök att se själva. Vi har verkligen haft det och använde det ett par gånger under det besöket. När vi planerade vårt besök i staden i år och även om vi inte bodde så nära såg vi till att arbeta i en annan måltid. Den här gången hade vi en sitta ner måltid snarare än att ha en takeaway. Återigen kunde vi inte fel maten eller servicen. Det kan vara väldigt hektiskt och från att ha pratat med folk som väntar kommer de från hela världen för att åka hit vilket säger en hel del. Du kan inte behaga alla men jag skulle verkligen rekommendera det!

Vi gick till denna plats på grund av 4-stjärniga översyn på trip advisor. Detta är en hög volym, genomsnittlig kvalitet restaurang. Låt oss prata om maten som vi hade. 
Kokta fläskknyten - lite intetsägande, min rekommendation är att få den stekta. 
Vårroll - oljig och för dyr @ $ 4 USD för en vårrulle. Var inte ens välfylld
Kung Pao kyckling - välsmakande men kyckling mycket överkokt & för många jordnötter
Pilgrimsmusslor & räkor i vitlökssås - mer av en plommonsås än vitlök. Fisk och skaldjur var färskt men så över - sås du förlorar smaken av den känsliga skaldjur. 
Salt & peppar calamari - för mycket majsmjöl

Dessutom tar de ut 18 % i obligatorisk serviceavgift och accepterar bara kontanter. 

Så många andra ställen som är bättre. Denna plats var full av turister eftersom lokalbefolkningen inte ser värdet i det.

Joe's Shanghai är en livlig och bra plats att unna sig vackra soppdumplings. Förrätten som vi hade var ok men om du går, inte skicka vidare soppa dumplings! Servicen är vänlig, snabb och platsen är stor, ljus och ren. Endast kontanter.

Vi kom till Joe's Shanghai för lunch och beställde tre rätter, som alla kom mycket snabbt och var mycket välsmakande. Portionerna är en perfekt storlek, och personalen är hjälpsam. Jag skulle rekommendera dumplings, som var utmärkt!

Vi gick för en sen lunch på en söndag i januari. Restaurangen hade rekommenderats till oss. Vi älskar kinesisk mat och bestämde oss för att ta tunnelbanan ner från teaterdistriktet för att prova det. Vi var mycket glada att vi gjorde det. Det var ungefär en 10 minuters väntan, men de berättade 15, så det var bra. Servicen var snabb och uppmärksam. De stekta dumplings var utmärkta! Vi åt kung pao-kyckling och räkor och kyckling. Båda var mycket bra. Jag rekommenderar starkt! Var medveten om att betalning endast sker med kontanter och det fanns en 18% "serviceavgift" läggs till på räkningen.

Man kan lätt gå förbi det utan att märka det... men denna kinesiska restaurang erbjuder utmärkt mat och mest effektiv service. Älskade den vunna ton soppan, de kokta dumplingsen, nötköttet i svart bönsås och det kryddiga nötköttet med jalapeños .

Jag har varit på Joes olika platser i 30 år, vanligtvis har en bra måltid. Tyvärr har jag noterat en stadig nedgång i mat/service. Jag gick hit igår kväll och maten var HEMSK. Det här är sista gången jag äter här.

Platsen är mycket turistiska, och som ett resultat ganska dyrt - men maten är bara bra, inte bra. Du kommer inte nödvändigtvis att bli besviken direkt, men den kanske inte lever upp till exakt den berömmelse den verkar ha fått.

Har längtat efter att gå hit efter att ha läst recensioner och även sett den 1 timmes långa kön utanför, vi tog dom kända suop dumplings både pork och pork +crab och det var så överskattat. Så inte värt. 

Autentiskt ställe var du satt med främlingar på ett stort runt bord. Te kommer gratis, maten var riktigt bra. Det är inte ett lugnt ställe, det är ganska hektiskt där. Men det är läckert och autentiskt!

Värt att resa och alla väntan. . . soppa dumplings är fantastiskt och maj kul och fisken var utmärkt! Detta var vår andra gång här och det var så värt att resa!

Vi kunde berätta när vi kom och det fanns inga asiatiska människor som väntade på att komma in, att platsen inte skulle vara något speciellt. Det var trångt för säker, och maten var genomsnittlig.
