Had the best lunch ever at Flora, the newly opened restaurant (since June ‘24) of Thora Vineyard, situated between Båstad and Torekov. You can choose between a la carte or a set menu, and their wine list offers of course their own wines. I ordered a glass of one of their white wines and it was beyond my expectations! Make sure to book in advance!

Kapten Bille's Café & Hostel

Scenic spot for a coffee stop along the Göta Canal. Actually wanted to stop for coffee at a neighboring place (the small “yellow house” 30 meters away) which was closed because it was sold a few weeks ago to new owners. Would love to try the new spot as well next time!

Bjäre Bokhandel AB

Perhaps the loveliest bookshop in all of Skåne. Apart from books, they sell board games, some interior accessories, and beautiful cards. There is also a cafe on the inner courtyard.

Much welcomed addition to Båstad. Wine bar with sharing plates. Dog friendly.

Great stop on a west coast road trip! Great pizzas and natural wine selection. Also has a little shop inside with gourmet cheeses that you can bring home.

Skrea Matbruk

We accidentally found this hidden gem on a road trip a few years ago when driving on the western coast of Sweden. Since then, we’ve been back twice (on purpose). I describe Skrea Matbruk as “Tuscany outside of Falkenberg”. The food is to die for, they have their own micro gin brewery (and great cocktails) and you sit in the middle of the prairie surrounded by nature.
