Great restaurant with a good selection of wines. Really interesting menu - we wanted to try everything! Some things were a bit strange - the chickpea and lardo tasted great but it was like a soup in one bowl - difficult to share! The beetroot salad had raw kale - an acquired taste! - and was very acidic. The flat bread was divine! The real star of the show was the Mallard. I loved the way they’d used everything- and the liver parfait was beautiful. The duck itself was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, in layers. It came with a small salad with the rest of the liver and was also great. The smoked potatoes were also really good. Would definitely recommend and go again.

I made a booking at Mountain to celebrate my birthday with some friends. There were dietary requirements in our group and the service was very helpful about that. They clearly marked every item on the menu for us and offered to make modifications for some as well.

Other than that everything we had was amazing.
We had:
-Raw Scallops and Cured Monkfish
-Grilled Squid with Red Peppers
-Wild Mushrooms ⭐️
-Crab Omelette ⭐️
-Grilled Bread ⭐️
-Wood Fired Rice
-Dover Sole ⭐️
-Bitter Leaves with Anchovy

Been to Mountain a couple of times now, the food never disappoints, easy to understand why they have a Michelin star.

My favourites are definitely the spider crab omelette, wild mushrooms, mutton chops and wood fired rice. However the seafood main options are all outstanding. you

The restaurant has 2 floors, the ground floor is definitely nicer than downstairs as you can see the action in the open kitchen and it is just livelier. I do think the service is better than downstairs too.

Came here for a late lunch on Sunday and the restaurant was packed. Like BRAT, the open kitchen provides a sense of closeness between diners and chefs, allowing customers to have a sneak peak of what goes behind the scene of this Soho restaurant that has just been given a Michelin star.
First and foremost, the food was definitely great, with the highlights being wild mushrooms (like BRAT, but with a fresh golden yolk that adds bit of creaminess to the dish alongside a dash of acidity from the balsamic vinegar. heavenly! ) and wood fire rice (once again, like BRAT but simplified. Perfect mix between chewy pearly rice and a nice charred crunch!). The walnut bread was quite nice as well, with tomato had such a nice, acidic yet aromatic taste to it, with the only downside being the slightly soggy bottom of the toast. For the mains we went for the langoustine and short ribs, and the latter was simple, straightforward but banging. It was cooked to perfection, with nice bits of fatty bites hanging on the bone that is packed with such depth and flavours. The langoustine tho, unfortunately, was a bit of a let down. After being halved, each piece was incredibly small with barely any meat in it, which made me question the price point of this dish. The flesh also felt slightly mushy, which was not what I was expecting from such a lovely restaurant.
Then of course, the service. The team probably tried their best to accommodate us during our meal but was also obviously overwhelmed by number of people dining. They’ve completely forgotten about our glasses of wine and probably missed our order, which was quite unexpected as the service in BRAT was too-notch.
Do also note that Mountain might not be the best spot for a date night as you will be seated incredibly close to other diners and will probably have to be very loud just to have a small talk with your partner!
Overall, great food in the middle of soho bur still needs a bit of work to justify the price point and Michelin star. Would still love to come back and give it another chance when the hype dies down!

Came here for lunch. Super friendly staff that walked us through the menu and gave us recommendations. Wild mushroom went really well with the bread, pumpkin fritters was well battered and fried. The seasoning overall was a bit  overly salty, need a lot of liquid to wash it down. The tripe has a quite unique taste, not sure if I like it but it is a very different taste. The seats were a bit too close, good thing we went for an early lunch and there’s still space between tables.
