Had a fantastic experience at Dishoom Kensington! The food was absolutely delicious—packed with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of character.

The service was equally impressive—polite, attentive, and efficient from start to finish. Even though the restaurant was busy, the team handled everything smoothly and made us feel welcome throughout.

The overall ambiance is charming and rich with character, making the whole dining experience even more special. It’s a great place to enjoy a flavorful meal in a beautiful setting.

Literally everyone I've talked to about Indian food in London has told me that this place is a must-try.

I truly just thought it was OK and feel that there are some local Indian places where I live that I found to be better, but what do I know? A lot of local Indians were present the night I was there so maybe I'm just not well-versed enough in Indian cuisine to be a good judge. The curries we got were good and I really enjoyed the naan.  Just the perfect amount of garlic and not too oily. The mango lassis were a hit for me as well. In short, I'm not sure I was wowed enough to be willing to stand in line again for the food. I have to say though that they totally have a process down. When you first get there, you're asked to check in, and you maybe wait about 10-15 minutes outside, and then you're ushered inside the lobby to sit. If there's room immediately in the bar, they seat you there first. Once in the bar, you wait another 20-30 minutes but you're welcome to order drinks before they shift you over to your actual dining table. It's such a great and smart way to keep your customers from going mad while waiting for their table and they make more money out of it.

Dishoom is hands down one of my favorite places in London — it’s become a bit of a ritual to come here with my sister every time I’m in the city. We always go for the vegan sausage naan roll for breakfast, and it never disappoints. We’ve also tried their chai, which is absolutely incredible — rich, spiced, and comforting. There’s the normal black tea they serve that always brings back memories from my childhood. I still don’t know exactly how is made, but it’s something special, and I always order it.

The staff are consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Service is always smooth, no delays or confusion, just great food and great vibes. I also really appreciate that they have such solid vegan options, and the food isn’t overwhelmingly spicy — there’s something for everyone. Dishoom is a must for me in London — one of those places I keep coming back to, and always will.

The food at Dishoom was amazing — full of flavor and beautifully presented. The cocktails were great too. Despite a line outside (they don’t take reservations), the wait went by quickly since they let you grab drinks in a designated bar area while waiting for your table, which was a nice touch.

The only downside was our server. He seemed to be pressuring us to order more food, forgot about us multiple times, and when we asked for the bill, he brought us the dessert menu instead. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes just to pay. I get that it was busy, but it felt like he was more focused on upselling than providing good service. The most awkward part was when we paid the exact amount in cash (including the 12% automatic service fee) and he counted it right in front of us — it felt like he was checking if we tipped extra, which made the whole thing uncomfortable.

That said, don’t let this one experience put you off. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food alone makes it worth a visit. We likely just got unlucky with our server.

Nice place with a unique old school design. It's best to sit in the main room and not at the bar. Service was very good and extremely helpful. They also have a lot of helpful staff. Not like in some restaurants where they get into their zones and refuse to help you. That's a nice touch, they are one team and they are very efficient.

The food itself was very unique. An English/ Indian breakfast fusion. Definitely worth a visit.

They also do live jazz on Wednesday too Friday evening so I think I will check that out at some point!
