I know about EVOL because there are lot of late night events during the weekend that I have been recently attending.  There are quite a few well known spots but I must admit I had not heard about them until my DJ friends started having events there.

I remember looking for the place when I was driving in to the city (took over an hour even late at night) and I ended up driving past it the first time.  There is some construction in the area so the entrance is not visible from the street.  But I definitely recognized the entrance due to the familiar stanchion dividers used to control the crowd and keep lines orderly.

On that night there was no outside (I had gotten there a bit later) so I knew the party was going on inside.  The security team there is very thorough and professional.  They check all identifications, light body search for any weapons and initially were scanning the tickets.  Props to Storm for making sure the club security is always on point.

The lounge / club area is located on the second floor.  The stairs light up which I thought was very clever and cool.  The set up inside differs (as I have been there quite a few times).  There is the coat check area (optional) and then recently they have someone up top checking tickets.

The DJ area can be seen when you walk in and they arrange the VIP seating areas based upon how many reservations there are for the night. The full bar offers many options for drinks.  The bartenders are of course very pretty and polite when taking your drink request.  When the music is playing (and it is always on starting from 10p - 4a).  Depending on who is spinning, the crowd can be almost shoulder to shoulder or possibly less.

At every performance there is always the same sound technician on stage with the performers to make sure the show goes on without a hitch.  During certain parts of each performance he shoots the fog gun into the crowd and sometimes lets the performers do so.  The CO2 canisters on stage look serious but he has it all under control.  He is a very cool and affable.

Overall, the venue is a very good night spot for clubbing. The dance floor and lounge is smaller than some other venues but it’s got good lounge vibes. Great energy inside. Watching some of my friends perform and meeting new artists is always cool. Security and staff always polite. My first visit there will always be in my memory as the DJ duo I was there to support were not too friendly toward me (but this has no bearing on the venue itself).

Underage kids smoking actual cigarettes inside. Air system can’t handle it so I ended the night with actual swollen throat and eyes from secondhand smoke exposure. I approached multiple staff about the issue and was told “smoking is allowed” in this venue. It’s not, by state law. This place needs to get its shit together.

Vibrant, Colorful, place that’s packed with big energy. The temperature inside was perfect especially since it was hot af outside. The Bartenders have a very chill vibe and the drinks are lit and priced moderately. Location is in a great spot too!!

Place is pretty small venue but the music was good. They charge cover and the drink prices are probably the most insane I’ve ever seen for a club. $18 for a WELL drink then with the tax and automatic tip it comes to $22.

The lady working at the door on Saturday night (today, to be specific) had an attitude after I corrected her assumption about my nationality when she checked my ID. She just responded with 'sure' in a dismissive way.

It’s frustrating to have someone respond like that when you’re simply stating where you’re from. A little more respect would go a long way. Very disappointed.

I believe the lady is not going to be happy if I react the same to her nationality.
