Manteigaria
Manteigaria was recommended to us by a local as being the better contender for the traditional pastry Pasteis de Nata than the touristy spot Pasteis de Belem (the creator of the Pasteis de Nata). We tried both, but completely agree that Manteigaria is better, both in terms of flavor and freshness … and the lack of a huge line outside is another plus.

Trinca
Our best meal in Lisbon. Quirky Mexican/Portuguese fusion place. Great natural wines. Friendly staff. Make sure to reserve! Would recommend the shrimp taco and pisco sour
Hífen
Recommended to us by our Portuguese friends, Hifen is a nice place with views of Cascais beach & harbor. Fresh modern Portuguese food.
Hotel das Amoreiras
Went for a drink. Would love to stay here some day! Member of Small Luxury Hotels.
Calouste Gulbenkian Museum
The most impressive private art collection! The museum covers antiquity to the 20th century — everyone from Rubens, Rembrandt, Degas, Renoir and more. Also the location is great — amongst beautiful and large greenery! Definitely worth a visit. Entrance 10€ (also 25% discount for under 30s)
Maluca
We were lucky enough to get a reservation here the day of. This place has 5/5 on Google (basically unheard of) and I understand why! They try to be as organic as possible and use as much local produce as they can. Menu changes seasonally. We went in June — if you can, order the beet tartare and the basil smash drink! Also, the kindest owners!
Holy Wine
Hole in the wall wine bar. Only natural wines. About 3 bar stools inside plus two window ledges outside you can stand by. Really nice place for pre dinner drinks.
Copenhagen Coffee Lab - Alfama
Nice place for iced coffee.
Chi Coração
Passed by this boutique which sells scarves, blankets, coats, pillows, toys and more. Everything is made one hour north of Lisbon with organic wool. They also have an online shop where you can buy made to order blankets in custom size. Everything is sustainable and with wool scraps they make key chains and other small trinquets.
Casa Amora
Cute family run B&B by the quaint “Mulberry garden” in Lisbon (Jardim das Amoreiras). Total of six rooms. Breakfast delivered daily to your room in a nice basket (you send the owner a picture of a breakfast form with what you want the day before). Paulo (one of the owners) walked us around the neighborhood upon arrival and recommended some local spots. Also, Lisbon’s oldest bar is just around the corner. This is a great hotel for travelers wishing to be in a calm area and avoid tourist traps like near Pink Street etc. Also compared to many other hotels in Lisbon, the price is great for what you get.
Procópio Bar
Oldest bar in Lisbon. Great cocktails, slow service, but overall recommend. Good for date night.
Águas Livres
This authentic Portuguese eatery was recommended to us by a local. Very few things on the menu (choose between fish or meat dishes) and amazing desert selection. The cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had. 70€ for 2 people (aperitivo, mains, desert, beers, wine). Great price quality ratio. Only heard Portuguese there (no tourists) and it was full. Get the Dom Rodrigo cheesecake for desert!
