Enjoyed a really lovely meal today in this busy little bistro.

The place was fully reserved but fortunately the waitstaff were able to fit us in last minute. Literally every table was taken. There was also a queue out the front for people waiting for takeaway baguettes.

We had some traditional French dishes such as sardines on toast, pate, a goats cheese salad and onion soup. Everything tasted wholesome and hearty.

The venue is super busy so you need to be assertive when you want something, otherwise you could be waiting around. But, that’s not to say that the service is inadequate, it’s just very busy. And if you ask for something once, you’ll get it.. eventually. Service is delivered with a smile and our very polite waitstaff spoke to us in English which was very appreciated.

This place is nothing fancy, but you leave feeling satisfied and full up.

Lovely, unpretentious bistrot with great stuff, food, and very reasonable prices. The escargot were amazing, and the duck was made just right. Not dry, not salty, as other reviewers have said. It's duck, not chicken, and it was done right.

Great traditional French food here, snail starters cooked in an amazing garlic sauce, but this was overshadowed by the amazing paté on toasted bread. The main course of rump steak, frités and pepper corn sauce  was cooked with love and care, and was bursting with flavour.  Creme brulee for dessert, a glassy crisp caramelised top and a smooth velvety vanilla filling just the perfect level of sweetness not too sweet. Great red wine and the spot is close to lots of bars + pubs if you want to carry on your night.

We felt right at home. All day we’ve been sightseeing and museum hopping, and then we got here and finally relaxed. The staff in the restaurant are all characters making jokes along the way. They have an English menu. The food is outstanding. We got a bottle of their house wine which came with a funky design. Onion soup was the best we’ve had so far, escargot came with a sauce to die for, the boiled eggs with mayo traditional dish was simple and delicious, and the foie gras came with fig jam and it was the perfect combination. For mains, try the veal with mushroom sauce. That sauce you can probably eat your leg with lol

Patience. That's what this place taught me, there is a long wait during lunch time. A wait to be seated and then another wait for the waitress to get to you for your order and then a wait for the food to get to you. Honestly quite impressive as she was bussing all of the tables herself and there were many tables.

After the wait, the food is pretty decent. I had the escargot and they tasted great. They were already out of the shell so no hassle in getting them out and then you can dip the complementary bread in the garlic butter. Absolutely divine.

I also had the duck confit. The skin was nice and crispy but it was a little salty to my liking. The potato and mushrooms were very flavourful.

I didn't have the pleasure of sitting at the bar but the lovely gentleman could speak English and he seemed very lovely and friendly. I would recommend sitting at the bar if you get the chance!

Good restaurant in a quiet spot around the corner from Paris Gare du Nord railway station. Good food from an interesting menu; we had gazpacho followed by a dish of raw langoustines with ham and grapes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered.

Remarkably excellent food! This owner chef is a creative genius. My dinner was superb. The staff is warm and welcoming, to locals and travelers both. They speak English so don’t worry about your French. The wine list has many delicious wines by the glass too. I had pork with a heavenly sauce and fresh warm bread, exquisite. This is a true gem in Paris, prices are good for this high level of quality and I’ll be back. Don’t miss it!

Lovely early dinner. Good cheaper lunch menu too. Really lovely staff who took time to explain the menu. Great to go into the wine cupboard/room to select wine. So close to the station for catching the last train home too. Highly recommended.
