Oh my goodness, all those times I have been to this area and didn't know you could go into and up Wellington Arch.  You go into the gift store and you will meet Gareth and Gary.  Two more friendly and knowlegeable gentlemen you could not wish to meet.  Gary took us up and have us a guided tour.  So many interesting facts about he arch and the surrounds that I had not known and as luck would have it there was the changing of the guard whilst we were there and they walk through the Arch.  Simply wonderful.  Highly reocmmended.

During our recent visit to London, we had the opportunity to explore Wellington Arch, an iconic landmark situated at Hyde Park Corner. Originally conceived as an entrance to Buckingham Palace, the arch was later repurposed as a monument commemorating the Duke of Wellington’s victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. Crowning the arch is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe, depicting the Angel of Peace descending upon a four-horsed chariot, known as the ‘Quadriga’.  ￼

Visitors can ascend the arch to its balconies, which offer panoramic views over London’s Royal Parks and the bustling Hyde Park Corner. Inside, the arch houses exhibitions detailing its own history and that of its neighboring monument, Apsley House. We found the displays both informative and engaging, providing a deeper understanding of London’s rich heritage.

It's a unique structure full of history. Once home to the smallest police station in London, moved from it's original place and once part of a design scheme as an entrance to Buckingham Palace. Inside is a small shop, exhibition with the history and some parts of the feature on the top. There is an art exhibition on and then you can see over to Hyde Park and over Green Park. It won't take you long to look around, there is a lift and steps. Guide book available that includes the War Memorials in London in the care of English Heritage. The staff are excellent too, they helped me navigate to Kenwood House using the tubes and Busses
