Lovely restaurant and absolutely delicious stunning food. We came here as it is Michelin recommended and definitely did not disappoint in food. Where I think it lacked was in somewhat slow service and that they discretely charge you for water otherwise impeccable. Service was professional however it took a while to clear plates from table after being done and in between courses.

Lovely dinner experience at Montergade! We were able to book a day in advance for our group for dinner.

The food is simple but amazing, with different flavours. Totally understand why this place is featured as Michelin Bib Gourmand. They also offer daily specials on their blackboard, so remember to check them out.

Highly recommend the baked cod, risotto with glazed pork cheek + truffle, and seared mullet. The baked cod especially tasted delish, with potato soup underneath a perfectly soft and buttery piece of cod. (according to others) this place offers the authentic Danish dining experience.

Traditional, authentic Danish food and even better service!

I decided to try the classic smørrebrød. I didn’t have a reservation, but it was lunchtime, and a few spots were still available. I still recommend making a reservation, though.

They offered me a seat outside, which was great. The egg on the curry herring smørrebrød was fantastic, and the herring itself was incredibly fresh and flavorful.

I was even more impressed with the fried plaice with shrimps. The shrimps were delicious, and the plaice was perfectly cooked.

This place is known for offering authentic food, and the quality truly lives up to its reputation.

It might be a bit pricey, and while I was recommended to order two smørrebrød (the bread with toppings), I think one would have been enough.

You get free fresh water, and the service was excellent.

I highly recommend this place. Thank you, Restaurant Møntegade!

I had a good lunch set here, there are

*Curry herring with cress, onion, capers and egg Spicy herring with chili, caper and mayonnaise
*Filet of plaice with remoulade and lemon Crayfish salad with celeriac and apples on toast
*Braised breast of pork with corn, cabbages and balsamico Tartelet with chicken and summer greens
*Apple crumble with whipped cream

My favorite menu is the tartelet with chicken and summer greens.

I was traveling to Copenhagen from the United States and went to this restaurant with a large group after a wedding.  The atmosphere is charming and rustic, and felt very inviting. we were seated at a very long table that accommodated our entire party that felt very intimate and private. The food was a series of small, artistically crafted dishes, giving a complete meal, but in interesting, pleasing portions. Each round of food felt like a unique culinary experience, and our group enjoyed tasting each thing.  The food and its presentation became a topic of discussion with each because it was so well done. it is not a wonder why this restaurant is Michelin rated and if I’m in Copenhagen again, I would definitely look to repeat.

Host was fantastic! We booked for a group of four (one with a milk allergy) and couldn’t speak more highly of the experience. The atmosphere and service were top notch and each course was a delight! We got the scallops, beef tenderloin, and the dessert and were also brought a couple snacks! Furthermore, they handled the allergy with expertise, and for a fine dining experience in Copenhagen, host was definitely worth the price. If you are looking for an intimate and unique fine dining restaurant, host is definitely the place to go!
