Well, I am sure you read all the reviews so far. Yes it is crowded, yes ordering takes time, yes food comes slowly, yes this yes that. But let’s face it food is delicious. I would definitely recommend Sea Bass. You will get the full aroma of charcoal. I would also recommend Risotto pescatora. Full of sea aromas. But the highlight was Octopus. I believe I have eaten easily 100 times of Octopus before. Nothing was like this. Silk!!! And as dessert give a chance to Semifreddo  Croccantino.

Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi is a gem nestled in the south area of Cagliari, a place I’ve known and cherished since childhood.

This restaurant consistently ranks as one of the best in the area, a reputation it has earned through years of exceptional service and outstanding cuisine.

The meal begins with a tantalizing assortment of appetizers that set the stage for the culinary delights to come.

The olives, seasoned to perfection, offer a burst of Mediterranean flavors, while the slices of cured sausage are rich and savory, a true testament to the quality of local produce.

One of the standout dishes is the homemade pasta, generously dusted with bottarga, a Sardinian delicacy.

The best sea food experience in Sardinia by far!!  We have travelled through the  island for 2 weeks and our dinner here was simply the best meal we have had. The service, the hospitality, and the gem of the evening-the food, were all unbeatable. They serve this super delish warm bread with homemade pecorino, just yummm!
All the fish was so fresh, we tried the fried anemone which we could not stop eating. The grilled cuttlefish, sea bream, red prawn and sea bass were seasoned so simply but were absolutely mouthwatering! The pasta culurgiones was cooked to perfection.
An absolutely must do if you are in Cagliari.

Service completely Disorganized. Appetizer came with cheese spread but bread didn’t come until after we were done with it. We ordered vegetables with the fish but vegetables didn’t come until we were done with dinner. For our main coarse, we ordered 1 big fish and 1 small fish and the waiter only deboned the bigger one. Luckily I knew how and deboned the smaller one myself. They were have no clue how to properly serve courses. The sad part is the food is actually good. It seems that most of the complaints I see here are all about the service but it doesn’t look like the owner cares because this would’ve been addressed by now. Would have definitely given higher score if service was better. There is no way this place should  have more than 4 stars.

What a magnificent restaurant. The service was impeccable. The food was phenomenal. That pasta was out of this world. The fries small fish was just spectacular. The star of the show was the grilled eel. OMG. It was amazing. I can only think of a better eel I had in Tokyo. But it was different, not “better” :)
The traditional Sardinian dessert was another star of the show. Highly recommend if you love seafood. As a side note, it seemed that everyone in this restaurant (present company excluded) looked like a model.

UPDATE - ONE YEAR LATER

This time we went to Sa Cardiga three times in the same week. The food was as delicious as ever. That BREAD THOUGH. I would just eat that bread forever. You guys must go.
