After reading several glowing reviews about Sea Palace, I had high expectations for an exceptional dining experience in a unique location. Unfortunately, my visit was far from satisfying. While the floating restaurant’s décor and initial ambiance were impressive, reminiscent of traditional Chinese architecture, this is where the positives end.

The food, which is the heart of any restaurant, was extremely overpriced and mediocre at best. Every dish lacked depth and genuine flavor, leaving me and my guests quite underwhelmed. It became clear very quickly that we were paying for the novelty of the location rather than the quality of the cuisine.

The service was also disappointing. We were advised to order all our dishes together, yet the food arrived one dish at a time. There were four of us, and at least one person was always left waiting, making it impossible to enjoy the meal together. The gaps between servings were uncomfortably long, creating a disjointed and frustrating experience.

To put it bluntly, my local Chinese restaurant in London serves far superior food at a fraction of the cost. Sea Palace, while visually appealing, fails to deliver on taste or value. I would only recommend a visit for the scenic view, but if you are looking for a quality meal, you’re better off elsewhere.

Landmark (or watermark, as the palace is on a big house boat in Amsterdam harbour) restaurant in central Amsterdam. The visually stunning and sensually overloading. Despite being a natural tourist magnet the quality of the food is high. The dishes are really tasty and authentic. The service is somewhat rushed and unpersonal and you have to order everything from your phone using a QR code. But the quality and the experience fully makes up for that. And the prices are really fair.

This is one of the favourite Chinese Restaurants of my brother-in-law and he lives in Amsterdam. I was surprised that the size of the dim sum was very generous, big Siew Mai and soup dumpling. The dish that I enjoyed most is the Peking Duck! The crispy skin, tasty sauce and wrapped with spring onions in the pancake, it was just perfect! Highly recommended!

The food is amazing very delicious. The service and atmosphere adds a lot of good feeling. The place was crowded but we managed to have a table. We ordered soup, beef with mushroom, kimchi rice, beef dumpling, spring rolls and fried shrimp dumplings. All food was great and very tasty. Highly recommended to visit this place

Okay for food quality, but they should not accept reservations late if they will not allow you to enjoy the meal in time. We arrived the last hour available, sat down, ordered a cocktail and they came over to say the bar was already closing. We ordered the food and same, the came to say that kitchen was closing in 30’, if we wanted dessert when we only ordered main dishes. The food came fast luckily but we ate on a rush. Would not recommend the experience we had for such price. Overall nothing very outstanding or surprising but if you go, my suggestion is go with time. One thing is true, the spot is beautiful if you si next to the window or terrace.
