The Claris Hotel & Spa is a truly beautiful property, perfectly located just behind the heart of the shopping district. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, making the stay even more pleasant. The spa is small but charming; however, the absence of a swimming pool is noticeable and somewhat missed.

The room service team is very courteous and cheerful, as are the reception and concierge staff, who are always ready to help. One small suggestion for the future would be to expand concierge services to include flight bookings, not just train reservations.

The rooms are elegant, well-appointed, and meticulously detailed, reflecting the quality of a five-star hotel. While the hotel already stands out, I believe it has the potential to grow even further. I look forward to returning and seeing how they continue to enhance the guest experience.

Review of the Service at the Hotel

I would like to sincerely thank Oscar and Pep for the outstanding service I received during my stay at the hotel. From the very first moment, they showed kindness, professionalism, and a warm smile that always made me feel welcome. Every request was met quickly and with genuine care, and the personal attention I received from them significantly enhanced my experience. The hotel is stunning and features a unique art collection. It literally felt like we were spending the night at the museum! Our room was classic and elegant and had unique designs and ancient artifacts. The décor is moody and meticulous, and our room had works of pre-Columbian art that are part of the Derby Hotel group's private collection. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets are 100 percent Egyptian cotton from premium Barcelona brand Bassols.  The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a lot of great options. The location is also superb and you are a walking distance from some of the famous attractions.

I cannot recommend this hotel more. My boyfriend and I had the most lovely stay here. Check-in was easy, and when we got to our room, it wasn’t quite what we expected. We paid for the Duplex Suite, but this duplex didn’t have a bathtub or a very large bathroom. We were able to go to the front desk, and they got us switched to exactly what we wanted. The room was incredibly nice, and well stocked with toiletries, robes, slippers, etc. The free, unlimited mini bar was a huge perk. The mini bar had juice, water, soda, and beer. Housekeeping came every day.
The lobby is large and well-kept. There is always candy and cava in the lobby, which you can take whenever you’d like for free. The pool was still open in November, but the water was quite cold. The gym had the adequate equipment you would expect at a hotel.
The location is incredible. Within a five-minute walk, you can reach coffee shops, restaurants, a grocery store, a laundry mat, etc.
My only knock is the room didn’t have the best view, in case that’s something you really value.
While this hotel is not one of the cheapest, I cannot recommend it more. It is 100% worth the money, and it will make your time in Barcelona unforgettable!

Extremely disappointing stay – Avoid for Business or Comfort/Service

I am just staying in the "Val apartments" of this hotel, and I must say it was a very concerning experience. For the price and reputation this hotel claims to have, I expected a much higher level of service and comfort and professionlism.

First and foremost, the heating was not working, making the stay uncomfortable, especially during early spring nights. When booking for business purposes, reliable internet is crucial, yet the WiFi here was unacceptably slow—so much so that I couldn’t even take a simple online meeting.

Another major letdown was the false advertising of a 24-hour concierge. In reality, someone was only available from 7 PM onwards, which is misleading and inconvenient. This goes hand in hand with the fact that you need to run back and forth between the hotel with your luggage as there is nobody to check you in. Additionally, a coffee machine was provided, but no coffee for it—a minor detail, but for the price and standard this hotel is supposed to uphold, it reflects a lack of attention to guest experience.

Overall, this was not worth the cost, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or business-friendly stay. There are far better options out there that actually deliver what they promise.
