It is always a treat to visit the Royal Academy as their curation of art is second to none.  The Brazil Exhibit was limited only by the mediocre art, but the RA itself looked great.  One of London’s great galleries.

Went to the exhibition of Michelangelo,  Leonardo and Raphael.   An exhibition more for collectors and experts, rather than the average art lover, I think.  Bringing together so many drawings based around two significant commissions is an achievement, indeed.  And interesting to put these three side by side.  More context required perhaps to look at their relationships and attitudes to one another. I think that  Raphael does not shine in this company now; but we need to see their relative ages and experience in 1504 emphasised.

Storied art institution with always interesting exhibitions. I loved the current exhibition on Brazilian modernism which shines a light on a neglected part of modern art history (at least outside Brazil).
