We stayed at Hotel Locarno in Rome during mid-October, and everything about our experience was outstanding. The weather was perfect, allowing us to fully appreciate both the city and the charm of this historic hotel. The staff deserves special mention—the concierge, front desk, bell, and restaurant teams all went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our visit.

I just wrapped up three nights at the Locarno during sweltering August, and what a welcome refuge it was.

After several visits to Rome, a friend suggested I stay here, and I’m glad he did. The hotel is elegant and discreet - with a storied history and loyal clientele - evident from the moment you step inside. The room was spacious and well-appointed, strong air conditioning; being on the ground level I was initially concerned about street noise, but was happy to discover the windows are equipped with automated blackout screens that keep both light and noise out, ensuring a restful sleep. Only criticism is that my room had no individual lamps, just overhead lighting. So the options were either very bright or pitch black. From both a design and practical perspective, I would address this. (Looking at the website, it seems like this is not the case in most other rooms.)

The twice-daily housekeeping service was among the best I’ve ever witnessed, with an incomparable attention to detail. The staff at the reception attend promptly to any request and are friendly; the concierge services exceptional, with seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of the city, which restaurants are open when, and so on.

The hotel bar is handsome and offers an ideal setting for an evening cocktail. The drinks are quite expensive by continental standards (around €25 each), but that doesn’t seem to stop anyone and I suppose it didn’t stop me, either. I also would have preferred some jazz over the somewhat loud music they were playing on loop throughout my stay.

All told, my new favorite place to stay in Rome. I look forward to returning soon.

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The welcome was warm and professional from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious, clean, and very well-equipped. The staff were incredibly attentive, always ready to assist and offer great recommendations for local activities and restaurants.

The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of fresh products. The hotel’s location is perfect, just a short walk from "plazza del Papolo"

I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will definitely be coming back!

We stayed at Hotel Locarno for three nights for our honeymoon and it was an amazing experience! The staff were very kind and helpful, the breakfast was incredible, and the room was beautiful and very clean. We loved the turndown service as well - what a nice touch. We even had dinner at the hotel one night and it was spectacular. A lot of the reviews are complaints about the food and beverage pricing, but I do not agree with them. The prices are more than reasonable for a 5-star, Michelin hotel. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Rome.  Grazie mille!

We have just returned from an impeccable stay at Hotel Locarno. Such a stunning hotel with beautiful decor and rooms. Our bedroom was magnificent and the air conditioning a god send! The staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating to my family and I and every member truly made our stay very special. Breakfast was so enjoyable and delicious and the bar and rooftop excellent for drinks and dining. The hotel’s location was so convenient, everything was a short walk away. We can’t wait to return soon and would highly recommend.

I didn’t get a chance to take more pictures because I ate like there was no tomorrow. The appetizers, main dishes, Bolognese, and tiramisu were all scandalously delicious. The staff is also wonderful and polite, with excellent manners. You feel comfortable and fancy in this environment—and you leave 3-4 kg heavier. I absolutely recommend it.

We made last minute reservation, and make sure you do have one.
First to seat. Our server was attentive. Food was really good! As you know Rome’s Resturant only have 4-5 pastas in their menus & Bolognese is not a staple item on most menus, thus going here.
It was one the best Bolognese dishes I had in Italy (and wanted to go back the 2nd night but couldn’t walk anymore!)
The dish had a balance of spices, meat and sauce and the pasta was cooked to perfection . The breaded veal was good and we had an appetizer of fried sardines. The tiramisu was ok, I make much better.
Highly recommend it and go for Bolognese or Lasagna! Forgot! Do order just a plain salad! The fee is minimal however just the lettuce and few strands of carrots in Italy with the olive oil and a bit of vinegar tastes Devine!

A well known authentic Italian Restaurant in Rome… home made pasta. Enjoyed all the dishes that were presented. Starting with fried Carli flower stuffed with mozzarella. A refreshing  salad.. than Risotto with lobster

amazing authentic italian restaurant!

I personally arrived later than my friends, and even though they were ready to start with the main dish, it wasnt allowed to eat before me finishing my starter (as i was late i ordered when they already were finished with the first dish). I really didn’t like that because i felt rushed eating my meal in order to have food for the others.

Also ordering a started and a main dish is a must. it is not allowed to have only one of them.

Absolutely terrible experience at Dal Bolognese in Rome. The restaurant was completely empty, with numerous free tables, and we walked in hoping for a quick lunch. Despite the lack of customers, the waiter was extremely rude. He didn't even bother to look at us and curtly told us, "No reservation, no seat." When we mentioned that online it said the place wasn't busy and that we could just come over, they insisted all the tables were reserved. The blatant disregard for potential customers was astonishing. We left feeling very disappointed. Avoid this place if you value good service. (Picture for reference of all empty seats)
