I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the underground speakeasy restaurant La Esquina. Reservation is required to access this one via a guarded door leading to the underground scene with cramped but very lively bar, restaurant and dj scene! Food is generally very good but nothing that particularly stands out as deserving five stars.

My husband and I both really enjoyed our food. The tacos were great and so was literally everything else that we ordered. I also loved my spicy cocktail, cant recall the exact name. The waiter was very sassy, but I wouldn’t say he was rude. I found the vibe to be great as I really enjoy people watching. We paid around 300 usd which isn’t little for a street place like this but I think it was worth it 🍹

Came on a day where there was a heat wave going on and the AC was not working properly. When we asked the waiter about what’s going on with the AC they said it’s not working too good due to the heat outside? This definitely put a damper on my experience because I feel like it would’ve been perfect had the AC been working, drinks were great and so was the food. The music was also good, they played a lot of Spanish music.

I loved the service at La Esquina. They were quite prompt and had attentive service. Especially the waiter Ozzy he was very professional. The food order came fast, I did not have to wait long for delicious food! Would defiantly come back again and recommend to friends and family to try out some fun Mexican food!

Det här stället packar ett slag! Jag har hamburgaren och pommes frites. Först kryddas pommes fritesen med Tajin! Om de är varma är det ärligt talat stjärnan i måltiden. Min vän hade biff och pommes frites och hennes biff (Bis - tec) var munvattnande! 10 / 10 . Jag gick tillbaka för att beställa pommes frites och bist - tec tacos, väl värt den tid det tar att vänta på måltiden.

detta är ett av dessa e-insiders hemligheter, det är inte riktigt en hemlighet längre, men ändå definitivt inte mainstream. Riktigt stilig stil, du går in i denna silverström under bilen och precis framför dig står en hostess vid ett slumpmässigt hostess-skrivbord (med tanke på att utrymmet bara är två personer djupt, och naturligtvis middag). Om du är balsam, går du upp och ber att bli tagen ner. Om du ser tillräckligt cool ut kommer hon att göra det. Du kommer att gå genom en svängdörr bakom henne, ner en trätrappa, genom köket (med full sprängning) och ut i denna mörka svala, grotta i en bar med kandelabra och ljus så använd, deras vaxnitar droppade ner i baren på golvet.
Foos är riktigt bra mexikansk för en anläggning i New York - men det är vibe. Vibe har varat i över ett decennium och det är fortfarande riktigt coolt.

Vi åt lunch tacos och den var okej. Guacamole och chipsen samt fisktacosen var bäst. Margherita på is gjorde sitt för att drömma bort kylan i NY just nu. 

Fantastiskt ställe, med mycket bra mat och trevlig personal. Framåt kvällen blir mer som en Club/  barhäng. En besök rekommenderas men boka i tid

Super kul liten restaurang. Bra färsk mat. Fisketacos hade enorma grillade bitar av det som såg ut som havsabborre. Guac och chips första klass. Se och ses mängden av vardagliga människor som arbetar i SoHo.

16 juni La Esquina Soho middag. En funky, mörk, cool restaurang med en knäppa entré. Musiken var mycket hög och borden var små och mycket tätt packade tillsammans så det kändes mycket trångt och bullrigt. Tjänsten var bra och maten var utmärkt men mer av en familjevänlig eller ungdomars plats, kände jag, än en vuxen middag & chat.

Visste inte vad jag kan förvänta mig men min bestie sa att det skulle vara värt det. Vi gick upp till en mexikansk Cantina och jag var som "vi äter här"? ? Sedan gick vi in och dörrvaktaren ledde oss nerför trappan förbi köket till denna lilla dolda pärla på en plats. Det är mörkt och trångt men värt det. Maten var fantastisk (QUESO FUNDIDO är ett måste). Jag är super glad att vi lyckades komma in eftersom det var en bra tjejkväll! !

Gick för några veckor sedan. Mat var fantastiskt särskilt majs starteren. Stora margaritas också. Skulle defo gå tillbaka om jag är i NYC.

Denna plats kan fira 14 år, men de gör det så bra de är fräscha och roliga och ger exceptionell service och kvalitet. Dryckerna var läckra och när vi satt Tyrone behandlade oss som om vi var deras bästa kunder. Han gav stora rekommendationer och var alltid tillgänglig utan att vara i vår väg. Varje val var full av smak och vi delade en hel del menyalternativ. Maten är fantastisk, men det smakar alltid bättre med utmärkt service och det ingår Tyrone, våra bartendrar och välkommen hälsning och tack till Adira när vi kom och lämnade. Detta var värt att vänta.

En stor mexikansk restaurang, utsökt mat (vi försökte nachos, tacos och quesadillas), mysig atmosfär och bra service!

Otroligt charmig ruff lokal där man går in genom en grillkiosk, ner två trappor och genom köket, burköl och riktigt bra mexikanskt i en rull källarlokal med tegel på väggarna, gamla möbler, prisvärt 

Delikata tacos med spännande fyllningar. Hela konceptet kändes väldigt genuint. Hög kvalitet. Mysigt ställe som passar barnfamiljer också. Samma restaurag har ett shack bredvid som såg coolt ut, det får bli det nästa gång! 

Poppis mexikanare där vi åt en långlunch under julhelgen. Skön stämning och helt okej mat - om än inget utöver det vanliga. Tog en portobelloburgare och (extra goda) strips, nachos med ett par (goda) dippsåser och avslutade med (mer stark än god) margarita. Betyg: en stark trea.
