This restaurant/meal was an incredible experience! Starting with the entry through a freight elevator to a waiting room designed like a Korean garden, it was a unique and creative. The tasting menu was exceptional with beautifully-plated courses. Every course was so delicious, and I was left full and satisfied at the end of the meal. The staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was chic and inviting. This restaurant will definitely earn a Michelin star. Highly recommend having dinner here before it becomes impossible to get a reservation!

This visit to Joo Ok was my second since their recent opening, and it was an absolutely satisfying and unforgettable dining experience. It might just offer the most refined and diverse expression of Korean flavors available in New York. Each course was meticulously crafted, with incredible attention to detail and layers of flavor that left a lasting impression—so much so that the explosive taste still lingers in my memory even now.

The service from the staff was smooth and attentive, and the pacing of the courses was perfect. I enjoyed a long dinner while chatting with my guest, yet the staff’s thoughtful consideration made the entire experience comfortable and relaxing. The recommended wine was also absolutely delightful and paired wonderfully with the meal.

Looking back, every single course and even the smallest dishes carried an incredible story, perfectly highlighting the unique tastes of Korea’s different regions. While I don’t often indulge in fine dining, the quality and experience here make me want to return more frequently.

Reservations are already extremely difficult to secure, and I’m sure the demand will only increase. If you’re considering a visit, I strongly recommend making a reservation right away!

I loved the experience. The flavors were unique, most dishes had intense flavors, and each course was very different from each other. While reminiscent of Korean cuisine, everything felt original.

The restaurant is upscale, but the experience was laid back. I never felt in a rush in the over two hours and a half that I was there.

The food is presented beautifully, and I enjoyed eating with my hands and utensils equally. The staff was very friendly, and I liked it when they shared tidbits about the food. They work really hard to keep things running smoothly. I'm happy I got to try it, and if the menu changes, I'd certainly visit again.

Three Gs - Great service, Great food, Great atmosphere. We came with very expectations, having been to several Korean Michelin 1-3 star restaurants in Seoul. Warmly welcomed with a small drink at the entrance with a cozy, traditional Korean maru vibe, we were escorted to our table with a window view. Every dish had intense flavors that matched the description in the menu but in a totally unexpected shape and form. It was fun and fulfilling at the same time. We came for my wife’s birthday and both left with a smile on our faces (and stomachs too). Would definitely revisit for another occasion. Joo Ok lives up to its reputation from Seoul that preceded itself.

The opening drink was fantastic and incredibly creative. The food was decent, but I didn’t fully connect with it. However, if you enjoy traditional Korean cuisine with a modern twist, it might be worth a try. The team made a big effort in the interior design and the experience
