Tall Poppy has been popular among pastry lovers in NYC recently. There is always a line in the morning and we couldn’t wait to give it a try.

However, their pastries are not our style that the overall texture is too heavy and the layer is thick. It is really crispy with balanced flavors but we love pastries in airy and lighter style.

Tall Poppy does baked goods right! Everything is baked fresh daily in the basement (down under if you will!) and is Australian inspired. Their flavors are different, a combo of sweet and salty. The staff is super friendly and knows all of their products so well. They also a very aesthetic wall behind the baked goods, comprised of books, merch, and other products. It feels like a local place already, as the workers know the customers names. Definitely go check them out!

One of the Best chocolate croissants I’ve ever had. Normally you get an uneven amount of chocolate in every bite in an average chocolate croissant but Tall Poppy’s doesn’t skimp on the chocolate. Every bite tastes delicious and leaves one feeling decadent first thing in the morning. I love that feeling. Thank you brilliant artisan bakers of Tall Poppy for elevating the chocolate croissant!
