Let me start by saying, you could smell the barbecue from the moment you got out of your car and it didn’t disappoint! This place was PACKED on a Saturday night and the line was out the door when we arrived. With that being said, this restaurant is run so efficiently and we got through the line, ordered, and had our food within 20 minutes.
We ordered two kids meals (smoked turkey and pork sandwich) which were served with French fries and a drink and was plenty to feed an adult. My wife ordered the pork sandwich, side of onion rings, and a cup of the chicken gumbo. The onion rings were generously portioned and the gumbo was nicely seasoned and tasted like it had been cooking all day. The barbecue sauce was on point! I preferred the slightly spicy version and the everyone else enjoyed the original.
Every employee we came into contact with was friendly and appeared to be hard at work.
We will definitely be back again and it was the highlight of our food experience while visiting KC. 10/10!

We ate here today at about 2:30 and there was still a line but it went quickly. The brisket was delicious and their original barbecue sauce is so good. I’m pretty sure it’ll be good on anything. I love the seasoning on their fries. And you can also purchase the fries seasoning and the barbecue sauce so we got a package with one of each. We are so good glad we took the detour.

My husband and I tried Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que for the first time tonight and we were not disappointed. We ordered a large fountain drink, Burnt Ends Dinner with a side of Mac & Cheese (1.50 up charge), Rib Burnt End Dinner with BBQ Beans, and a 1/2 pound Brisket. Our total bill was $64.57. This was the best brisket and Mac & Cheese we’ve had in KC. The burnt ends were portioned appropriately and melted in our mouth. The BBQ beans were very different and had more of a salsa onion taste, but was still good. The sweet tea tasted straight from the south. The BBQ sauce was delicious and complimented all items ordered! Very pleased with our experience.

Great bar b cue had the Rocket Pig which was amazing pulled pork, bacon, fried jalapeno and pepper jack cheese. The home made onions rings are a solid choice. They also sell rubs and sauces in their retail shop area. Great place for real bar be cue

We waited about 30 mins during lunchtime. The line was long but it was moving the whole time. Though it’s very busy, service was still great! Love the local ambiance! Had the rib and burnt ends dinner, it was awesome! But the Z-man sandwich is the best!!! Highly recommended if you come to visit KC!
