Our visit was phenomenal. The winery itself is already incredible from an architectural standpoint. But the art collection is also remarkable. The wines are, of course, exceptionally delicious and of the highest quality. It doesn’t get much better than this. We had the chance to taste fantastic vintages and had a wonderful time. Thank you for everything.

Wow absolutely breathtaking. Everything about this winery is beautiful and elegant. As soon as you walk in they are waiting for you. They really make you feel special. Wine came with a delicious tea and some yummy bites. We will definitely be back

Modern architecture and only focus on making the perfect bottle of red wine. Opus One started to focus on making the only mix of red wine from 1979. Our host Cory is very knowledgeable about all the history and the wine making process. Nice afternoon to hang out by the roof to enjoy the breeze of the wine country.

Don’t do it unless money doesn’t matter to you!

There is obviously not much argue about the quality of wine you get from Opus One, given that they only make two wines and this for decades speaks for itself, but the visit and tasting experience is a total bluff! Unless you love this overpriced non exciting LV/Gucci experience where you get the feeling to be thankful that they allow you to spend money with them.

As I said, wine is very good eventhough I personally prefer other types of Napa Cabernet, this is absolut typical Bordeaux style wines, they are top of the class!

Now to the tasting, it’s 125$ per person for 3 glasses of wine, I belive it must have been 50ml, 2oz at max. You get the two latest vintages of Opus One and their sister wine Overture, it’s all prepared when you get guided in one of their tasting rooms. No pouring no bottle to see/touch etc.

It’s all very friendly and there is someone who will explain about the wines and everything around it. But that’s it! You drink your wine, will be asked if you want to buy some (totally overpriced especially if you are from Europe, the bottles were like 100-200$ more expensive than Europe retail) and you are about to leave again. There is nothing special about this testing that would justify the price or effort unless you are really up for testing Opus one, which I belive you can get cheaper, just buy a bottle and share with 5 friends!

All the little things that make tastings at other locations so worthwhile and exiting like that extra sip of the vintage you liked the best, that little extra you didn’t expect like a small dash of another vintage or something, nothing of that which you would usually get at any other winery in that region you can expect. You really only get what you paid for. If that makes you happy than this is your place but I wouldn’t come back.

I have about 300-400 bottles of premium wine in my cellar and visited tons of wineries around the world, this is one of the most disappointing experiences I had so far.
