I stayed at KēSa House and, while the location is fantastic, the soundproofing was a major issue. Every morning, I could hear the cleaning staff talking, the vacuum running, and doors opening and closing—all as if they were right next to me. It made it really difficult to get a proper rest.

If you’re a light sleeper or looking for a quiet stay, this might not be the best choice. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the noise levels made it hard to fully enjoy my stay.

Very good location, next to several restaurants, temples and (most importantly) the chinatown hawker centre. Walking distance to MRT and bus stations and a 30min walk to the Clarke Quay. Everything is super clean, but rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny. Common areas are very small and crowded at some times. Based on several reviews about the noise, I used earplugs and they worked perfectly. The kitchen is quite useful, offering water, sparkling water, coffee, microwave and a stove. It's fantastic for short stays!

Pros: Great location between Chinatown and Maxwell. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:
Really tiny rooms, could really only open 1 luggage at a time. Shower door doesn't close fully and have to be careful not to drench the dry area of the bathroom.

Sound proofing is awful due to how close everything is, doors being slammed shut can be heard very clearly throughout the night and day.

There's a vibration from either music or public transport system that vibrates through the whole room throughout the day and night.

I would avoid if possible or only stay 1 night. M hotel is a better option with larger rooms and similar price point.

We have stayed here twice now and we have loved it both times. Staff are excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. Beds are very comfortable. On this visit we were moved rooms as we need to be able to get out of both sides of the bed, not agile enough to climb over my partner. We will definitely stay here again on our way back to the UK. We love the area it's in, as wonderful cafés, bars and restaurants. Just has a lovely homely feeling about it, which is perfect for us.

* Pros (+): meticulously cleaned; great location in Chinatown but outside the hullabaloo, in a street of beautifully renovated shop houses; staff always helpful and flexible. We had to change rooms twice due to problems with the lights and later due to noise, and both times, all went smoothly.

* Cons (-): TOO. MUCH. NOISE. And we were on the back side of the hotel where the noise was not coming from the bars in the street... In room 212, you hear and feel the MRT passing through your brain from 5.30am until past midnight. Then we moved to 202, due to the lights issue. It is next to the automatically locking door that connects the rooms to the common area. Every time someone was passing was like a slap in the face. The bathrooms of the neighboring rooms were also very noisy when in use. We decided to move back to the MRT adjoining room... The lesser of two evils? I guess not. The cherry on the cake: these guests who totally lack manners and respect towards others. We barely slept any of the 4 nights...

I wouldn't go back honestly...
