Everything is fabulous!
The restaurant is located in an old charming building with lots of atmosphere, the owners are friendly young couples with lots of passion for food, they really make sure every dish is done with taste, sophisticated texture with beautiful presentation, the wine pairing was with lots of thoughts and it for sure added another layer of the whole experience. Highly recommend and will come back again.

Amazing location for fine dining.
Celebrated Christmas here and was very impressed with the quality and taste of our lunch.

Wij waren helaas teleurgesteld over de smaken. We hadden gehoopt op verrassende uitgesproken smaken maar helaas smaakte alles flauw of naar weinig. De 4de en 5de gang waren goed op smaak en het echte dessert was ook lekker maar de rest helaas niet. De sfeer en service waren helemaal top dus daar ligt het niet aan. De kaascollectie waar je uit mocht kiezen was zeer uitgebreid.
We hadden ons er gezien de eerdere recensies meer van voorgesteld

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the flavors. We had hoped for surprising, pronounced flavors, but unfortunately everything tasted bland or of little taste. The 4th and 5th courses were tasty and the real dessert was also tasty, but unfortunately the rest was not. The atmosphere and service were absolutely great, so that's not the problem. The cheese collection you could choose from was very extensive.

Gisterenavond naar De Koetsier geweest. Wow! Wat een ervaring was dat! Wij kozen voor het 5-gangen verrassingsmenu en wat was dit een feestje. Elke gang was een streling voor je smaakpapillen. Het personeel was ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kennis die er is over de verschillende soorten wijn is een geweldige aanvulling op de avond. We komen hier zeker nog eens terug.

Went to De Koetsier last night. Wow! What an experience that was! We opted for the 5-course surprise menu and what a treat it was. Every course was a treat for your taste buds. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The knowledge available about the different types of wine is a great addition to the evening. We will definitely come back here again.

Mijn meest recente bezoek aan Restaurant De Koetsier in Boxtel was, in tegenstelling tot mijn eerste bezoek in september 2024, ronduit teleurstellend. Het begon al bij het voorgerecht. We hadden heilbot besteld, maar helaas was dit door minimalisme moeilijk te herkennen. De belofte van de heilbot was niet alleen niet zichtbaar, maar ook totaal niet te proeven. Het leek alsof de chef simpelweg had besloten om de vis over te slaan.
Vervolgens kwam het hoofdgerecht: rode poon. Wat we kregen was echter een belediging voor de naam 'gerecht'. Een blokje van slechts 3 bij 3 cm en slechts 1 cm dik werd geserveerd. Dit was niet alleen een schamele portie maar ook qua presentatie en kwaliteit ver onder de maat. Bij de eerste poging was de vis koud, wat al een duidelijke indicatie was van de nalatigheid in de keuken. Na het gerecht terug te hebben gestuurd, kwam er een tweede poging, die weliswaar op temperatuur was, maar verder niets toevoegde aan de eetervaring.
Alle gerechten waren vlak van smaak, zonder enige diepgang of verrassing. Het leek alsof de keuken de kunst van het kruiden en combineren van smaken volledig was vergeten. Er was geen balans, geen creativiteit, en geen zorg voor detail.
Op de vraag of de chef-kok en eigenaar op vakantie was werd ontkennend geantwoord, maar we zagen haar niet. Dat maakt de situatie nog verwarrender en teleurstellender. Als de kok en eigenaar niet op vakantie waren, zou je verwachten dat ze in het restaurant aanwezig zijn om de kwaliteit te waarborgen. Het feit dat zij niet is gezien, terwijl de kwaliteit van het eten zo drastisch is gedaald, roept vragen op over het management en de consistentie van de keuken. Misschien is er een verandering in de keukenstaf of heeft de eigenaar minder toezicht op de dagelijkse operaties, wat de kwaliteit van de maaltijd ernstig heeft beïnvloed. Dit alles draagt bij aan een zeer negatieve ervaring en zet vraagtekens bij de betrouwbaarheid en professionaliteit van het restaurant.
Kortom, mijn lunch bij De Koetsier was bedroevend. Van een restaurant waar ik eerder tevreden was vertrokken, verwacht je een consistente kwaliteit. Deze ervaring toont echter aan dat er iets fundamenteels is veranderd, en niet ten goede. Ik kan op basis van dit bezoek niet aanraden om hierheen te gaan voor een culinaire ervaring, tenzij je bereid bent om teleurstelling te accepteren.

My most recent visit to Restaurant De Koetsier in Boxtel was, in contrast to my first visit in September 2024, downright disappointing. It started with the starter. We ordered halibut, but unfortunately minimalism made it difficult to recognize. The promise of the halibut was not only invisible, but also impossible to taste. It seemed like the chef had simply decided to skip the fish.
Then came the main course: red gurnard. However, what we got was an insult to the name 'dish'. A cube measuring only 3 by 3 cm and only 1 cm thick was served. This was not only a meager portion but also far below par in terms of presentation and quality. On the first attempt the fish was cold, which was already a clear indication of the negligence in the kitchen. After sending the dish back, a second attempt was made, which although it was up to temperature, but added nothing to the dining experience.
All dishes were flat in taste, without any depth or surprise. It seemed as if the kitchen had completely forgotten the art of seasoning and combining flavors. There was no balance, no creativity, and no care for detail.
When asked whether the chef and owner was on vacation, the answer was negative, but we did not see her. That makes the situation even more confusing and disappointing. If the chef and owner were not on vacation, you would expect them to be present in the restaurant to ensure quality. The fact that she has not been seen while the quality of the food has dropped so drastically raises questions about the management and consistency of the kitchen. Perhaps there has been a change in the kitchen staff or the owner has less oversight of daily operations, which has seriously affected the quality of the meal. All this contributes to a very negative experience and calls into question the reliability and professionalism of the restaurant.
In short, my lunch at De Koetsier was miserable. You expect consistent quality from a restaurant where I had previously left satisfied. However, this experience shows that something fundamental has changed, and not for the better. Based on this visit, I can't recommend going here for a dining experience unless you're willing to accept disappointment.
