I'm here for 8 nights.  The service and location are impeccable.   The room isn't overly elegant but it's very comfortable and I'm enjoying my stay very much.  The bed is great and provides a wonderful night's sleep.  There is an overhead shower head but the pressure isn't great and the water temp could be hotter.  Still, overall I've had a very enjoyable stay.  I was able to get a competitive rate through Expedia and would absolutely return if I were able to again obtain a preferred rate.  To recap the service and location are top notch.  There are more elegant hotels but Sofitel definitely holds its own in the comfort department.  My compliments to the staff for their good work.

We have stayed at Sofitel Legend, The Grand Amsterdam a number of times over years and have always been delighted with the standard of service and level of comfort within the hotel.
The extremely warm welcome upon arrival was highlighted further, with an upgrade to a Suite with a Butler. Everything was perfect. The room was warm, spacious and cosy and had all the amenities we could have wished for, including fresh milk brought to our room for our tea and a wonderful view of the canal.
We had dinner in Bridges and very much enjoyed the dining experience. Things have evolved with the menu and the restaurant since our previous visit, but it is still very good, made even more pleasant with the professional, yet warm and friendly service.
From hot drinks in the lounge to welcome us, a glass of complimentary champagne with our dinner, a room upgrade and excellent food and service. We could not have asked for more. The attention to detail is second to none, making the overall experience extremely enjoyable.
We look forward to our next visit to Amsterdam and another opportunity to stay at Sofitel, The Grand.

From arrival we were greeted by the staff to ensure that our check in experience was seamless. Staff were very polite and willing to assist on everything. The hotel facilities were well maintained and rooms well appointed. Hotel was only a short stroll to the main square.
Would recommend.

Last day at this property,  about to checkout but had to leave this review before I leave.

My first time in Amsterdam and I chose to stay at this property because I've stayed at two(Sofitel Mumbai & Sofitel Opera Paris) of their other properties in the past.This is the 3rd Sofitel property I've stayed and I can categorically say they always exceed my expectations. They acknowledged all of my requests,  the room is absolutely beautiful,  service is excellent.  Florine is absolutely amazing! His service is top notch!!! The rest of the staff are very respectful and professional as well. The Location is literally in the heart of Amsterdam! I'd 101% be back and recommend anyone visiting to stay at this hotel!

I had the pleasure of spending one night for business at this legendary hotel in Amsterdam.
The history behind the building is incredible therefore please make sure to ask or research before your stay! The bed was diving, my room huge with high ceilings and the bathroom, was the kind you dream for at home! Free standing bath, separate rainfall shower and two basins on either side of bathroom!
The staff were outstanding and the inner courtyard in spring summer, is so nice for lunch. The Oriole Garden Bistro is just a green and plant haven!
