We had a great experience in this restaurant. The main traditional dish was amazing, but we didn't like their lamb kebab. The dumpling with the meat was great. Also, we tried the Mojito drink, and it was absolutely refreshing. The honey cake as well was great. The staff very friendly and respectful. Decoration was nice.
My only problem was the bathroom light that was blue and very hard to see. I don't know if It's always like that or only when we visited.

Incredible food, service and atmosphere and i don’t say that often. Food was very different and incredible. Our server made a few suggestions that definitely added to the taste. Service was amazing. Honestly couldn’t possibly ask for anything more.

Delicious and unique food. Great flavors, price, quantity. I wish there was one closer to me in Westchester. The service was exceptional too. To speak to a native Uzbekistan raised server who gave us advise on what to choose and if it was enough food for two hungry guys. The lunch specials are well worth it. I also got meat pies but ate them too quickly to take a picture. The pumpkin and cheese puff pastry appetizer is great too. Anything steak related is also good because they fire everything fresh

Having been to their 9th Avenue location, we were excited to have Farida open in our neighborhood. Have now been here twice. The menu significantly expanded in our most recent visit. Favorite is the pumpkin dumpling and baked buns. Food is good and attentive service. However, wish they could make more vegan versions of the Uzbekistan dishes such as plov so vegans can enjoy too.

Food was good.
The level of service didn’t deserve my 20% tip. And I don’t want to come again.
1. No one came to our table to provide menus/water after we sat down for 10+ minutes. I tried making eye contacts, waving, and saying “excuse me” to multiple servers who walked past our table for at least 10 times because I really needed some water. Nobody responded or even noticed. Finally, one server came and told us they ran out of menus and asked us to check the menu online.
2. While we were waiting for the servers to notice our table, a “photographer “ came to offer taking some pictures of us. I thought it was weird and asked why. He clarified that we could buy the pictures if we liked any. I wasn’t feeling too good that night so I said no. But he presided and held up the camera to try taking pictures, saying “why not I take a few just you could see”. Like, NO MEANS NO! I have to say it in 3 different ways for the person to leave us alone.
Overall, the food tasted good but the service was the reason I wouldn’t choose to visit again.

Vi hade letat upp intressanta och olika kök och hade bokmärkt denna plats eftersom ingen av oss hade erfarenhet av uzbekiska rätter. På grund av turist tunnelbanan och riktad förvirring kom vi i bråttom för att komma till vår show. Chefen var mycket hjälpsam för att tillåta oss en tabell och vi valde blint några rätter att prova. Plov och chuchgavarra (sp?) Var fantastiska! Plov-köttet var mycket ömt och kryddat vackert och serveras med en kall sallad med instruktioner för att blanda med kött- och risrätten. Mycket gratis. Chuchgavarra var nötköttkakor serveras med några röda såser som hade en fin värme. Jag kan vänta med att gå tillbaka med mindre tid. Rekommenderas starkt!

Om du vill ha denna typ av mat, gå till 108: e gatukungar och njut av Salute. Varför? denna plats är för svårt att njuta av. Värdet är grovt för dyrt för mängden och kvaliteten. Till exempel prissätts en blandad platta med hummus etc 19 dollar. 00 och du får en matsked av varje aptitretare på ett fat. Brödet är också minimalt. Sopporna är feta och ris är dålig. Oliver som garnerar fetakosten är konserverade oliver utan smak. När conciergen på hotellet vi bodde rådde oss att prova ett sådant okänt kök var jag lite skeptisk. De flesta människor i Europa och till och med i USA vet knappt var Uzbekistan och de ex - sovjetiska republikerna och särskilt i Italien finns sådana restauranger ingenstans att hitta.
Farida lyckades dock ändra min mening. Miljön var liten men mysig, typisk för NYC och stämningen var väldigt mycket hemtrevlig. Alla i personalen tittade bara på dig med ett 32 tänder leende och var så glada att du valde att prova de traditionella rätter i deras avlägsna hemland. Särskilt den asiatiska servitrisen var förmodligen den trevligaste jag någonsin har träffat, så omtänksam och snäll och alltid leende.
Dessutom gör kocken, med en stark rysk accent, allt ännu roligare eftersom du kan smaka på kärleken och den passionen han lägger i sina rätter. Han gick till och med för att göra en speciell sås till min mamma som är intolerant mot vitlök. Maten är bara lite kryddig och i allmänhet mycket välsmakande och god. Jag går vanligtvis inte ut för att komplimera så mycket, men de förtjänar varje ord jag lägger i denna recension: Lammet var utmärkt kokt och jag rekommenderar starkt att man försöker uzbekiska shurpas soppor.

Utmärkt, rimligt prissatt mat. Tjänsten var vänlig och uppmärksam. Vi hade Plov (ris pilaf med nötkött och lamm) och Manti (kött fyllda ångad dumplings), som båda var mycket bra. Skulle definitivt återvända.

Den enda uzbekiska / centralasiatiska restaurangen i NYC. Små och mysiga, med fantastisk mat och underbara värdar. Vi åkte dit för en middag och avbokade reservationen nästa dag på en annan restaurang att komma tillbaka hit. Sade jag att maten är fantastisk? ! ! !
Atmosfären där är som om du är hemma - alla känner sig välkomna och folk börjar prata med sina "grannar" som sitter bredvid dem.
Jag rekommenderar denna plats och kommer definitivt att vara tillbaka!

Läs om denna plats i Eater och ville kolla in det eftersom det ligger i mitt grannskap. Min man och jag slutade med på lördagskvällen runt 8 pm. En upptagen tid, men lyckligtvis hade de 1 öppet bord för oss. Ägarna hälsade oss när vi kom och satt oss mot baksidan. Restaurangen är lång och smal med cirka 14 bord (2 toppar) som kan skjutas ihop för grupper. I själva verket fanns en grupp på 6 ppl mot framsidan. Det fanns 2 servitriser som tjänstgjorde hela rummet. Vi beställde ett par apps, plov entree och ett par shashlyks (skewers). Allt var så smakfullt och gott! Jag rekommenderar starkt denna plats och glad över det är ankomsten i huven!

Trevligt ställe, verkligen familjestil, verkar också familjeägt. Rekommenderas starkt: traditionella dumplings. Och chak chak för en öken.
Skulle rekommendera för en vintermiddag med vänner eller f du vill prova lite nytt kök.
De har definitivt vegetariska alternativ, men köttälskare skulle tycka om mer:)

Jag vandrade in i Farida i stor utsträckning för att jag ville ha lite mat som jag inte kan få hemma, och centrala asiatiska slog det märket.

Jag ska rave lite om tjänsten; min värd / server var vänlig, välkomnande, hade rekommendationer när jag bad om dem och var super - söt och uppmärksam utan att vara påträngande. Det är ett intimt utrymme - platser om 25 eller så - och har lämpligt eklektisk inredning. TV: n visade vad som tycktes vara en uzbekisk version av "S bado Gigante. ”

Jag hade köttsamsa aptitretare - läckra bakverk insvept runt en kryddat köttpåfyllning. En stor aptitretare även om jag hade delat den (den kom med två bakverk). Jag önskar att det hade varit varmare, men det var gott som var medföljande tomatsås.

Jag hade den uzbekiska Plov för huvudriset med kött och grönsaker. Det var gott och mycket fyllande. Jag skulle kalla det hjärtligt och bra, men inte livsförändrande. Jag hade en unremarkable men solid ryska lager för att tvätta det hela.

Vid 30 dollar trodde jag det var rimligt prissatt. Jag kan inte prata med äkthet, men det var en trevlig introduktion till ett okänt kök, och värt ett stopp för en fylld måltid som inte är din vardagliga middag.

Vi hittade av misstag Farida Restaurant efter att ha släppt vårt bagage på Schwartz bagageförvaring - mat liknar grekisk eller turkisk mat men annorlunda. Det är kokt över kol och atmosfären är Centralasiatiska (Uzbekistan Turkmenistan etc) Vi hade mycket tur att hitta det till lunch

Som vanligt är jag galen över Plov. Så vi tittade upp på nätet och det hade bra recensioner.
Det var så varmt idag, men när vi kom in, välkomnade vi varmt (vilket jag knappast ser idag) och de var artiga mot oss.
Konstverket runt restaurangen var färgstarkt och bra och skildrade historier som underhöll mig.
Vi beställde:
 1. Manti
 2. plov
 3. Bröd (naan)
 4. Lulya Shashlik
 Köttet var alla mycket saftiga och smakrika.

Vi såg 4. 6 stjärnor på Google, så vi har bestämt oss för att prova. Maten var fantastisk, tjänsten var så vänlig - du måste prova.

Farida - Downtown

Det här stället var coolt. Den har en mycket trevlig känsla och har en mycket autentisk känsla. Jag älskade menyn eftersom den hade bilder på varje maträtt (vilket är coolt för en plats som har mat jag inte är bekant med). 

Maten var faktiskt ganska bra, servicen var super vänlig men lite ouppmärksam. . Men jag skulle helt gå tillbaka och försöka igen!
