I love this place. I've been there a million times for over 20 years and I follow them through their many locations that they changed. There's no food right now. They are doing parties, but it's so much fun to go there that service the atmosphere. It's incredible and a lot of fun.

Recently my friend and I came here on a Thursday night and let me tell you: IT WAS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES FOR CLUBBING EVER! 💀

Here’s why:

When we got in line for the club we waited for almost an hour in the cold and was expecting to get in for free because we RSVP the tickets but there were 2 guys saying we had to pay $20 each because we didn’t “repost” their flyer on our Instagram stories….thats some MAJOR BS….to make matters worse is that there was this elderly woman requesting to charge us another $20 for MANDATORY drink tickets for me and my friend to get in….like wtffff why do we need to pay $40 to get in now when the club advertised it would be free entry?!?! What’s even MORE crazy is that this was a 18+ event and this woman was forcing minors to buy their drink tickets and use these tickets to drink in the club. My friend and I came here before last year for a reggaeton party and had no issues! So I’m was very disappointed in the money hungry attitude these bouncers had! Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves for tricking people into paying for the club when y’all advertised it for free!

When we got into the club, my friend and I were extremely disappointed of the lack of vibes because  every person in the club was either sitting down or standing and most people weren’t dancing! To make matters worse, the bartender wanted to charge another $10 per drink on top of the drink ticket for a tequila and soda mixed drink….we ended up getting coronas and suffered the night knowing that we probably won’t come back here again! Also the club advertised there were 2 floors, but it was just one floor with people sitting in front of some stripper poles lol

Overall, if you are here for clubbing, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here! Save your time and money and THANK ME (by hearting this post) for not coming here lol

This place was full of supposedly 18-year-olds, and if you’re 25 or older, you’ll likely feel overwhelmed by how they’re dressed and how drunk they are. I paid $30 online for a ticket, but when we arrived, they charged us an additional $20 at the door. Definitely not worth it.

I would skip this place if you want a great club experience.

They force you to buy a $10 voucher for a drink before entering (which is illegal to not disclose prior to finalizing the sale of the entrance ticket online). Not only that - we had to wait a whole 2 hours to get in.

There was a lot of underage drinking, and the DJ was horrible. No transition at all. He just skips to the next song 15 seconds after the beat drops. It's like he's just playing his spotify recommended playlist to us because they were all the same genre and beat.

Everyone was stiff like a board. Barely anyone was dancing. The place was cramped as well, which didn't help the fact that there were people spilling drinks all over the floor.

Do not come here unless you want to experience all of the above.

Kuma Inn

Tidig lördag kväll middag och Kuma Inn fortsätter att tillfredsställa. Trevlig välsmakande veggie dumplings och kryddig berusad räkor. Grillad lax var perfekt kokta och väl kryddade också. Kommer att hålla sig borta från det klibbiga riset och kokosnötriset som följt upp med klibbigt ris som var smakligare och överlägsen för att såpa upp såserna. De ångade musslorna medan de har varit bra har varit bättre. Vi kommer tillbaka!

Vilken stor upplevelse. Kuma Inn har varit i NYC för en tid nu och det tar gris att vara en huvudroll i New York restaurangscenen. Några tips:

 - Du måste lämna ett meddelande för att få en bokning så se till att du ringer ett par dagar i förväg, jag lämnade ett meddelande på tisdag för en lördag reservation

 - Få fläskkullarna, du kommer inte bli besviken (jag är kinesisk och gillar oftast inte vårrullar)

 - Det är BYOB, en fin flaska rött vin är perfekt, $ 5 corking avgift

 - Enbart kontanter! ! lite av besvär men min faktura kom ut till $ 85 med tips och vi åt bekvämt

Min fru och jag har varit i Kuma Inn flera gånger under årens lopp. Förra veckan återvände vi med ytterligare två par. Mina vänner åtnjöt maten, men det var tydligt sämre än tidigare besök.

Ännu viktigare var servitrisen inte vänlig. Vi hade en vegansk vän som beställde alla grönsaker och hon serverade hennes fläskdumplings. Vi fick aldrig de vegetabiliska dumplings vi begärde.

Servitrisen försummade att berätta för oss att spetsen var med. Det var inte skrivet på checken någonstans. Ingen i telefon berättade att det var med när vi gjorde eller när vi bekräftade bokningen. Ingen sa något när vi kollade - den kvällen. Kontrollen inkluderade bara disken och skatten. Ingen delmängd. Ingen tips specificerad. Bara en total summa. När jag frågade servitrisen, bekräftade hon att spetsen var med. . Det var ett tydligt försök på hennes sida att dubbla dip eller "double tip".

Ingen gillar att utnyttjas och därför kommer vi inte att återvända.

Vår systerdotter tog oss till detta funky hål i väggen. Vi kom förberedda för BYOB. Vi var inte beredda på entréväg. Bilden som bifogas denna notering är så exakt. Jag trodde att vi gick in i ett sprickhus. Vi åkte upp dessa härliga gamla trappor. På toppen öppnas det upp till en liten, skrymmande restaurang. Mycket avslappnad, men maten var fantastisk. Det är tapas stil filippinsk mat. Vi hade grillad bläckfisk, musslor i citronsås currysås, krispiga äggrullar, bok choy, ahi tonfisk, krispiga crepe thingy och kyckling korv skålen. Jag önskar att jag kunde beskriva det bättre eftersom det var fantastiskt. Jag är inte en för att gå för långt bortom den stupade vägen mat klok, men allt smakade otroligt. Jag rekommenderar starkt Kuma Inn för en underbar, äventyrlig middag! Ps. De tar reservationer.

Fantastiskt hål i väggen. Jag skulle inte ha hittat den här platsen om jag inte hade kommit med vänner som varit här tidigare. Kör av en familj som lagar allt färskt i ordning. Det är också BYOB (cue applåder). Mellan 6 av oss tog vi 9 flaskor vin och beställde en av varje sak på menyn och jag kan ärligt säga inget besviken. Bläckfisk och ris crepes med kuma bolognese var mina favoriter, men även tonfisk och sommarrullar var fantastiska. Jag kommer absolut att vara tillbaka eftersom det här är en av mina nya grannskaps favoriter.

På vårt årliga NYC besök ville vi prova något annat. Har aldrig ätit mat från Filippinerna, var Kuma Inn värt ett försök. Men idag (10/18/17 på 1:30) var dörren låst. Vidare fanns det inget svar på deras telefon. (Två dagar tidigare hade jag fått närmaste tunnelbanestation vid samma #)

Förslag - ring precis innan du går!

Fantastisk mat och bra musik. Detta lilla hål i väggen på lower east side bör finnas med på din lista att äta.

Vi litade på Lonely planet och vi bestämde oss för att prova Kuma Inn.
Vi finded det helt enkelt, tack till den beskrivning läs på den guide (titta för nummer 113 målade på den väggen, om du menar att gå där).
Vi gjorde en reservation för samma dag, och flickan som vi talade med sa oss att de accepterar endast kontant betalning (men hon åt nämn inte BYOB - vi upptäckte det så långt som vi såg de andra personerna som anländer med sina egna vin/öl).
Den lokala var väldigt varmt, och det fanns ingen A/C - det fanns bara ett par fläktar).
Vi tog 4 olika tapas (musslor, fulla räkor, kinesisk korv, lumpian) och vi gillade dem. Vi hade aldrig provat panasian rätter - så definieras av Lonely Planet - men vi gillade vad vi åt.
Mycket dåliga överraskning kom med notan: de lagt till 25 % av det belopp som dricks! Vi vet att tips är oftast på grund av, men 10-15% av den summa, inte den 25 %.  Kanske, om vi hade inte säga att vi är turister, det skulle inte ha hänt!

En vän som bor i NYC rekommenderade denna filippinska tapas ställe. Vi tog tillvara två flaskor med vin från September viner ner den street. Vår server höll dem på is för oss och var mycket hjälpsam med vår beställning. Restaurangen är små och mörka men maten är jättegod. Prova den kinesiska korv och crêpes bolognese. Utsökt!

Vi hade problem med att hitta stället eftersom det inte fanns någon tydlig signal, det är en dold pärla på andra våningen. Härlig atmosfär. Maten var fantastisk liksom servicen. Publiken är bara lokala. De serverar inte alkohol men de kan du ta med din egen drink. Den är dessutom endast kontanter. Lita på mig, det är värt det.

Billigt, bra mat, byob. Det här stället är fantastiskt. Den saiteed kinesisk korv är en av de bästa sakerna att äta från var som helst.

Det här stället hade rekommenderats av en vän, som tyvärr inte nämna endast kontanter politik, och att det var toapappret också Tamedsjälv.
Ändå, det slutade med att ha en riktigt bra tid. Små tapas rätter (jag rekommenderar 5-6 för ett par) av slumpmässiga asiatiska/fusion smaker.
Restaurangen är på övervåningen, och det finns egentligen inte något tecken (bara Kuma målade på väggen förutom dörren till trappan).  Vi hade lite svårt att hitta det, men glad att vi gjorde det.

Detta var en utsökt måltid med vänner. Maten var utmärkt och portionsstorlekarna var förvånansvärt bra för tapas. Allt med den kinesiska korv var ett bra val. Att ta med din egen vin politik var också mycket bekvämt att hålla alkohol kostnaderna nere. Det är ett hål i väggen-restaurang och litet pris-y, men servicen och atmosfären var fantastisk. Definitivt rekommendera detta ställe, särskilt för datum.

Bara gå. We loved our stay! Den stora majoriteten av rätterna vi hade var helt utsökt. Om jag bodde i NYC, jag skulle vara tillbaka där ofta.

Jag har inte varit ner i den här delen av staden i ett tag till, bara komma ihåg det förflutna, när du inte skulle ha velat vara gångavstånd upp till andra våningen i en byggnad i mitten av Ludlow Street. Faktum är att när våra wine group fick här på 5:45, ett par av dem tyckte det var stängt fram. Före 6, dörren är stängd, täckt av graffiti och dekaler och bottenvåningen business ser ut som den är stängd. Alltså, det första intrycket är, där är det här stället och göra jag vill verkligen åka dit. När du sedan första går in genom dörren, intrycket fortfarande inte är bra och två trappor väntar dig. Ta dig förbi det eftersom maten är riktigt bra. Det är fortfarande BYOB men med en $5 för medhavd alkohol. Vi hade en stor grupp, så vi beställde tre av vad vi fick. Jag trodde att den kinesiska korv var bra, så var det ångkokta bullar. The drunken räkorna var välsmakande och crêpes var intressant. Egentligen inte ett pankaka som jag förväntade mig men mycket bra. Servicen var bra men inte fantastisk. Sammantaget har vi en fantastisk tid med mycket god mat. Ja: "we'll be back".
