We had a late/9:00 reservation that was SO hard to get…lots of people tried to walk in but it was booked.  This place has been in the same location since 1869 and they have definitely mastered their craft.  Their dishes, house red, deserts, and service were all top tier.  Most tender chicken I’ve ever eaten and the steak Florentine was so tasty that I ate almost all the fat too!!!!  Our waiter was great, quick, spoke great English, and funny.  Only about 6 tables and you might be at the same table with another couple.  It was great…we loved it.

the butter chicken here is a can’t-miss type dish. Absolutely incredible. Everyone serving here was very warm, and the food was impeccable. Get the meringue cake with wild strawberries!! It also cannot be missed. One of the best meals I had while in Italy. Bravissimo!

Go here! And get their 4 iconic dishes - chicken with butter sauce, Florentine steak, the artichoke pie, and the meringue dessert cake. Everything was absolutely delicious and they have perfected every dish.

Menyn är begränsad till några pasta-, kött- och grönsaksrätter, men de är så läckra, färska och enkelt gjorda! Detta är en familj stil restaurang med flera gemensamma bord och reservationer rekommenderas starkt. Vi åt tortellini, penned bolognese, smörkyckling och tomatsallad och blev inte besvikna! Restaurangen är oklanderligt ren, och personalen är vänlig och omtänksam.

Min favoritrestaurang i Florens, älskad av både turister och lokalbefolkningen. Personalen är varm, priserna är rimliga, och maten är utmärkt. Jag älskar särskilt gnocchi gorgonzola dammad med finhackad ruccola. Köttet är mycket gott också.

Vi besökte senast Sostanza för ca 8 år sedan, kan vara lite längre, så när vi bestämde oss för att hyra en villa utanför Firenze visste vi var vi skulle gå för middag. Vi älskade dess äkthet och den traditionella maten förra gången, och imponerad att rapportera att det var exakt samma sak i går kväll. En av de få platser där du verkligen känner att det inte har förändrats på årtionden; atmosfären, maten, kanske servitörerna. De gör några saker exceptionellt bra. Ren, exakt och trogen sina rötter. Jag skulle äta här varje vecka om jag kunde.

Vi hade en bekräftad bokning från sin anställda via e-post. Tyvärr fanns den inte med i boken som såg ut som en 1 väghyvel skrev i den. Att bortsett från oförskämdheten och de höga rösterna som sa åt oss att gå var pinsamt. Det slutade med att vi åt där eftersom det fanns ett tomt bord (tänk er det). Maten var bra men inte bra. Vi kommer aldrig tillbaka.

Totalt sett bra upplevelse. Maten var bra - beställa kyckling! inte alla gillar det gemensamma bordet. ett par sitter med oss, var mycket obekväma med att dela. Så det här är inte för alla.

Travaking 15000 km till Italien för att återbesöka denna trattoria med min familj. Jag ringde 2 gånger för att boka 3 veckor i förväg. Vi dök upp i tid men de hade inte vår bokning (de har en gammal bok där de skriver ner namn...). Ägare kunde inte bry sig mindre: "må vi gjorde ett misstag, kanske du gör ett misstag", återvände den för att skära sin salami för sina kunder. Han försökte inte hjälpa till på något sätt, duka upp ett annat bord eller något (när det fanns ett reservbord som bara användes för att lagra lite köksgrejer tydligen). Han lät oss bara stå i 8 långa minuter och ignorerade oss medan han fortfarande gjorde sina saker. Jag har aldrig sett en sådan ägare så ointresserad av kunder. . . Det står verkligen i kontrast till alla upplevelser jag haft genom åren i Italien. Poäng att notera, för 10 år sedan var platsen levande med servitörer som chattar med kunder, bord som delas och mat som såg bra ut. Den här gången märkte jag att servitörerna bara gjorde sitt jobb, inte engagerade sig med kunder. Stämningen var också tråkig och jag såg inga italienare äta där (endast engelska talades). Kort sagt, om du vill ge dina pengar till någon som inte bryr sig om sina kunder och utsätta dig för en turist joint på turistprispunkter, gå vidare. Om du vill ha god mat, livlig atmosfär och njuta av vad Toscana handlar om, spendera dina pengar någon annanstans i stan.

Wow! Denna lilla familjeägda restaurang ner en liten sidogata är ett underverk. Från utsidan ser det ut som ett litet café, inuti är det en blandning av stilar, små, intima och inte vägledande för vad som komma skall. Lokalbefolkningen vet om denna plats, måste du boka. Serveringspersonalen ger dig en handskriven meny och ordnar snabbt en drink och lite bröd. Vi hade blivit rekommenderade att äta kronärtskockspajen, som är mer av en omelett, och smörkycklingen, så det gjorde vi. Otroligt. - Kronärtskockan är så mjuk och krämig och kycklingen mör, efter att ha tillagats i smör. En sida av gröna bönor och en sallad gjorde två otroligt enkla rätter enastående. Hur de producerar så bra mat i ett så litet kök är bortom mig. Du måste någon gång dela bord om du bara är en tvåa - men gör det. Alla är där för att njuta av maten så boka den och gå!

Vilket ställe, bästa kycklingen vi ätit i våra liv. Personalen var så vänlig det fick oss att känna sig hemma. Boka i förväg, eller gå in på 730 / 21:00 när båda deras sittningar äger rum eftersom de vanligtvis har några öppningar (inga föreställningar). fantastiska, lågmälda trattoria i Florens. Rekommenderas starkt.

Vi var här i januari 2024 och blev kära i smörkycklingen. Vi var tvungna att komma tillbaka. Detta är ett bra ställe med bra service. Tomatsalladen och färska bönor kompletterade måltiden bara för att avslutas med svårfunna jordgubbar och maräng. Boka i förväg med förtroende.

Vi kom till denna restaurang för flera år sedan och var tvungna att komma tillbaka medan i Florens. Den fräsande kycklingen är precis lika god som den var för flera år sedan, och vi beställde förstås mer! Tomatsalladen är himmelsk - något av det bästa vi hade när vi var i Italien. Tyvärr provade vi bistecca fiorentina här, och det var överkokt och inte lika bra som några av de andra bistecca ställen vi provade. Servicen är snabb och effektiv.

Bara wow. Allt vi beställde var härlig! Tre år senare och jag drömmer fortfarande om pastan, smörkycklingen och marängtårtan vi åt. Vi tillbringade tre veckor i Italien, äta i alla tänkbara typer av matställen inklusive Michelin - stjärnrestauranger, och detta var den allra bästa måltiden vi hade! Bokning var en olägenhet - krävs att ringa från USA - men det var såå värt det!

Trattoria Sostanza är en super autentisk restaurang i hjärtat av Florens, där historia, kvalitet och charm möts. Under mitt besök njöt jag av en exceptionell måltid med mör kyckling, smakrik pasta, en fräsch sallad och en härlig dessert varje rätt som visar upp tidlösa, autentiska florentinska smaker. Atmosfären är genomsyrad av tradition, vilket gör det inte förvånande att kockar och matälskare från hela världen dras till denna ikoniska anläggning. För att uppleva denna kulinariska skatt fullt ut måste du planera i förväg, eftersom reservationer är viktiga. Restaurangen har ett pressat schema och erbjuder middagssittningar uteslutande kl. 7: 00 PM och 9 : 00 PM. Ändå bidrar denna noggranna struktur till dess charm, vilket garanterar en sömlös och personlig matupplevelse. Trattoria Sostanza behöver inte en Michelinstjärna för att lysa – dess otroliga mat, inbjudande atmosfär och rika historia gör det till ett måste – besök för alla som söker Florens själ.

Detta var ett efterlängtat återbesök efter fyrtio år. Tack och lov hade inte mycket förändrats - fortfarande så bra som då. Maten var utmärkt - särskilt filébiffar och crostini. Servicen var vänlig och professionell. Dela bord läggs till atmosfären. Bra prissatt mat och vin lista. Skulle råda att boka i förväg - det är mycket populärt.

Rekommenderas av många, och av en god anledning. Sostanza är en liten anspråkslös plats som serverar bra mat. Smörkycklingen var en höjdpunkt och ragupastan var helt perfekt. Portionerna är på den mindre sidan, men det är bara en bra anledning att beställa mer mat. Annat än maten servicen var utmärkt och servitörerna var roliga och vänliga. Det står på några olika ställen att de är kontanter bara men jag kunde betala med kreditkort inga problem. Definitivt en höjdpunkt från vår Florens resa och kommer definitivt tillbaka nästa gång jag är i denna hals av skogen... ....

Detta är en klassisk grinig gammal man, träpanel vägg italiensk restaurang. Ta den florentinska biffen (den är stor nog för 2 ) , och tortino di carciofi - - de är måsten. Smörkycklingen är också helt enkelt utsökt. Har besökt på tre olika resor och skulle återvända. Rekommendera en bokning! !

One of our favorite restaurants in Florence. All dishes are prepared with love and care; delicious in their simplicity. We always feel very welcome, and the owner always takes good care of us, and other customers. Beautiful to sit outside while enjoy the sunset. Pro tip; ask for the lobster pasta ;-)!

The perfect final meal of an incredible trip! We had the pleasure of dining in their private courtyard and being served personally by Francesco, his lovely wife and incredible staff. Every single dish was prepared with love and was truly the cherry on top of this entire trip. I can't wait to go back someday! Thank you Francesco and all for such an amazing evening!

We had a nice dinner for 4 watching the beautiful Firenze sunset.
First we had as an entree a board of cheese with honey and it was incredible, the highlight of the evening.
For main dish I had seafood pasta and it was just normal, nothing outstanding.
Service was good.
Recommend to eat and watch the beautiful Firenze sunset.

My girlfriend and I spontaneously had dinner last night and it was FANTASICO. We are from Canada, and the waitress, we think Ivana, was SO friendly and charming, as was the gentleman server, who's name we can't recall (sorry).

The food was TERRIFIC (we had the specials of truffle pasta and pesto pasta) - the best meal we had. And a good price. But, for us the friendliness and charm of the staff really made the experience.

We can't recommend it enough, it was a real highlight.
