 has a cocktail menu inspired by Quentin Tarantino films — giving every glass a story and every visit a cinematic edge. Stylish, well-priced at around €15 a drink, and genuinely fun.

A Trastevere landmark with a loyal following and a spot on multiple best-bar lists. 

 is known for its inventive seasonal cocktails — think cacio e pepe-inspired drinks that somehow work — and a generous aperitivo buffet included with your drink. Arrives early; it fills up fast.

 looks like a bookshop. Inside: records, blues on the soundtrack, and some of the best daiquiris and whisky sours in the city. The all-Italian clientele is all the recommendation you need.

Tucked into a quiet piazza near the Pantheon, 

 is a small, chic cocktail bar that takes its craft seriously. Tell the bartenders what you like and they'll build something for you — the menu is creative and the custom approach is genuinely impressive. A hidden gem in the heart of the historic centre.

Rome's original speakeasy requires a password from their website to enter. Inside: 1920s Prohibition-era décor, jazz at the perfect volume, and a strict no-vodka policy.

A racing-club themed speakeasy metres from the Colosseum. 

 delivers moody interiors, a theatrical double-door entrance, and creative cocktails that match the aesthetic. An ideal late-night stop after a day in the ancient city.

 is honest, local, and unpretentious — a wide selection of Italian wines by the glass, a crowd that's almost entirely Roman, and no food to distract from the point.

A trusted neighbourhood enoteca just south of Campo de' Fiori with a well-curated selection of Italian regional bottles and staff who genuinely love what they do. 

 also does simple, excellent food — arrive early before it fills up.

A Roman institution that has never needed to reinvent itself. 

 has bottles stacked floor to ceiling, an extensive and carefully chosen wine list, and staff who know their cellar inside out. Arrive by 5:30pm — by 6:30, the street outside fills up.
