Very traditional place with plenty of history, with convenient public transportation. Thanks to free entrance for people wearing hanbok, the experience here was enhanced with plenty of people in traditional clothing walking about.

I also experienced my first snowfall while here, so I might be biased, but the views were great.

Strangely this Palace is but a footnote on the travelling guides and in our opinion is one of the most interesting and beautiful to see. Some of the rooms have furniture and other decorating elements alluding to the beautiful History of the complex. This is for us the Palace to visit in Seoul!

Free entrance. Unhyeongung was the residence of the father of King Gojong. The palace grounds is really nice to walk around and there’s a small museum too. Worth a short visit.

One of the smaller palaces in Seoul but worth the visit and free to enter. Home to the father  (Daewongun) of King Gojong it was also the venue for the wedding Gojong to Empress Myeonseong. The former regent, Daewongun, lived here with his wife from the time he stepped down in 1873 until his death.

We had a traditional wedding ceremony at Unhyeongung, the place was beautiful and the staff were thorough and caring. They are professionals in Korean tradition. The samulnoli performance was amazing so we really had a great time.
