I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Zell am See, and it was truly a remarkable experience. Safety issue warning!
The bathroom has a small inconvenient 1-1.5 inch lip between floors that is a tripping hazard.  I took this up with someone from the offices and I thought they were going to address it, but they did not.
After a few failed attempts to get a drink in the bar I decide to write a review.  It sucks to go on vacation and be left to feel unwelcome.
The person who checked us in said there was only one key.  Wrong! You just need to put a deposit down for the second key.
I asked about alternate ways around the train crossing waiting, he said there were none.  Wrong!  There are under crossings.  Easily discoverable but still it is hard to deal with bad service.
Zell Am See is a beautiful place with awesome views of the Austrian Alps.
The Grand Hotel is a beautiful place with a great location and history, although the staff makes it seem unwelcoming.
The bar staff is avoidant of guests needs.  During the afternoon snack reception I was in the bar enjoying my food and wanted a beer, although the man I was with said he did not want a drink so apparently the woman has no choice left to be made.  I returned to the bar a bit later to see if I could get a drink before dinner and again not one person spoke to me.  Why?
I would love to return here, but the way it makes me feel as a guest is not warm and good.  So sad, and so many parts closed.  Wish I did not feel as if I had to warn others.  🥲.
I do want to mention that the service in the restaurant was impeccably professional and wonderfully friendly.  Thank you restaurant waiters! Best part of the stay. 🤗
I changed my rating because although my claims are valid the hotel is nice and the few should not ruin it for the majority.

Great location and very friendly staff. Breakfast is fabulous. Dinner menu is so so. Rooms are a bit small and no air conditioning in all rooms. Rooms rates are above average. Garden around the hotel is really nice. I remembered it 👍🏼. Enjoy your time 😎.

I visited the hotel only for couple of drinks in the evening and in the morning. It is nicely decorated and uniquely designed and the view is breathtaking. Staff in the bar is on the level. Especially mrs Nina which always had right recommendation and warm smile. Brilliant.

First time in the beautiful and lovely Zell Am See - loved it to the max , the hotel location is perfectly managed to have picturesque views of the mountains and the lake , also 7 minutes walk to the train station and zero minute walk to the city center , i rated the room 4 out of 5 because the curtains need double blackouts as i asked for a dark room yet unfortunately little light was passing through the balcony and this was mentioned to the friendly staff who themselves try their best to help me out and made my stay memorable, special thanks to the 2 lovely ladies ( Amber ) for her plans around the city and ( Elma ) for her cooperation in helping me finding out the best solution in my stay , special thanks to the waiter ( Imad ) for his thorough explanation every night in dinner menu and also in the breakfast - and also an Egyptian waiter ( i don’t know his name ) was also helping me without even asking for that , so my only suggestion to keep the stay better in the future is the double blackouts in all the rooms and not only the new building please , i was staying with full dining package in the deluxe room number 547 with a balcony , untill next time , my warmest greetings to all the staff ♥️ Goodbye
