If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable. If you love fine dining, and Japanese food, you need to visit.

A discerning friend recommended this and I’m so glad he did.  There’s a new chef - NEW CHEF_ so all the negative reviews are null.  The rice is not sour, nothing is wrong at all.  I was at sushi Disneyland but in the best possible way.  The master chef knew which fish i showed him on my phone- whether it was the one i had or not.  His and his team’s preparations were out of this world. The one complaint is the sommelier should know better.  He didn’t understand me and i had to taste many tries and then recommended to my seatmate- he was not a good sake somm.  Not on the Mich level. Everything was acccomodating and despite the Michelin stars- the staff took time to speak to all of the guests.  This isn’t California rolls- this is for real. Do it !  Head chef , Damian , Agi (sp) all the chefs were wonderful.   In lieu of the somm- i recommend the first Junmai daiginjo after tasting 3-4 different sakes. Enjoy!!

We visited from Singapore.

I must say for a European Sushi experience this was very good.

While visiting Paris we wanted to experience what Omakase sushi was using ingredients from Europe itself.

We came for dinner, but would recommend to come for lunch to enjoy the beautiful location.

We enjoyed the meal, service was great, and overall a pretty good experience.

But, if you are coming from Asia, that is, Singapore, Japan, HK, KL etc. where you can get a sushi Omakase experience, I’m afraid L’Abysse just doesn’t cut it. You can give this a miss.

However, if you might not have the opportunity to have a sushi Omakase experience in the aforementioned Asian countries L’Abysse is probably the best experience you will get this side of the world.

There were some novel dishes and flavors that kept us surprised. The produce used might not match up to Japanese produce but does meet expectations. Mediterranean Tuna and European Uni, for example, while not as flavorful still hit the spot.

Chef Okazaki’s skills are top notch and leaves nothing to be desired in that respect.

We spent about ~€300 per person which we felt was, when comparing to an Asian experience, just not worth the price in terms of taste.

The experience is nice but over priced. Especially the main course is limited, they could have add a sushi piece or so afterwards. Given the price, I would not recommend. In addition they lack attention to details as they forgot to bring us a table to put our handbags. This was awkward for a two star restaurant. There is also a hygiene problem as chefs took photos of customers by request and continue working on sushi without cleaning their hands. I think this is a serious issue considering any standard. The fish quality is very good but if you go one star sushi restaurant in NY for example you would leave full and more happy it was not comparable. This comment is valid for lunch menu, the full menu as I see includes some rare cuts which can justify things, but overall I would go to a one star restaurant in Paris which would be a much better experience for lunch. A last point the desserts was much better than other courses and creative.

Originally was here in June 2022 - Such a fun lunch experience! Definitely earned the two stars the restaurant has. The staff was exceptional and friendly, the chefs were nice and didn’t stop working. I was lucky to sit at the counter and be able to see all the work being done. Shout out to the awesome desserts chef that prepared everything right in front on the counter. Each dish was unique and the sushi was exceptional and satisfying. This is the omakase menu. They have other menus during lunch that are smaller.
