Trotz seiner Beliebtheit bei Foodies und Nachtschwärmern wurde Gilda am 23. Juni 2025 dauerhaft geschlossen. Dennoch bleibt es eine spannende Erinnerung an die lebendige Gastronomieszene der Stadt.

Gilda zog viele Besucher an, die die Mischung aus mediterraner Küche und israelischem Einfluss schätzten. TLDR: The food is okay in general not something that makes you want to come back for. Looks like they focus more on the drinking side of the business. The spot is cute, and loud, with the service being painfully slow. The prices are on the high side for the minimal portions.

Ambiance: Happy to see this new spot at Hell's Kitchen, which desperately needs some more unique flavors. The venue is well decorated, and inviting, but don't expect to have a nice and quiet experience because it's L-O-U-D. It's more of an "I am having a party" at a bar vibe, not bad but be ready for it.

Service: That is the major problem I saw. It doesn't make the experience unbearable but it's a nagging thing. It took 3 people to get some water, a long time to order entrees after apps, and also to get the check. Being a new establishment, even the welcoming lady at the door told us it was her second day,  perhaps they need some time to get the right systems in place.

Food: Everything is very small, you're either not hungry or you will have to order a lot and the prices don't quite allow for it.

The spreads are good, and the tomato especially was so fresh, however seems like that kitchen used zero salt and I had to add it myself for the flavors to appear. The mussels have a good wine sauce with it and the steak tartare had a good seasoning with the mustard and capers.

The best part of it all? The pita bread: It was perfectly grilled and the za'atar seasoning was amazing. I got it with the spreads and the mussels. But again WHY so stingy with the best part? With 2 spreads I only got 2 minuscule strips of pita barely enough to finish one spread, and another 2 tiny strips for the mussels. Asking for more took 15 minutes protecting the unfinished plates from people trying to take them. After getting another 2 minimal strips of pita ate some more spread and gave up on the mussel's sauce.

The beef skewers are well cooked and the carrots are a good accompaniment however needed more salt on top of it and again it's crazy small.

The chicken shwarma is the only thing that resembles a reasonable portion of what could be considered a meal. The kitchen was slightly overcooked and dry with some burnt bits and the sauce had to be used to compensate for it. The salad that comes with it is a good side.

In some time when the service is better, they definitely deserve a second chance and I can easily see it becoming a staple in the neighborhood.

The food is great. I’ve been to this restaurant ~4 times since it opened. I’ve tried the baked sheep cheese, the carrots, the cucumbers, the schwarma, and the dips trio on the happy hour menu…everything has been very good. Unfortunately a star was lost because of the lack of attentiveness by the servers and bartenders. Each time, sitting at the bar and at a table, I’ve experienced the same minimal level of attentiveness from the staff.

Tried Gilda for the first time and was very impressed. Our server / bartender was Greg. He was personable and gave great recommendations. Every dish we had was spot on but the star of the show was the beef tartare. Great vibe overall. Well done guys!

Food is really amazing, especially the lamb. Amazing cocktails too. Music is a bit loud for a restaurant/cocktail bar, but I know they are a new restaurant.  They definitely invested a lot into the property and the venue is beautifully designed. I will definitely be back again.
