I've had a chance to travel the world, fortunately, during my lifetime, eaten at many fine restaurants, including many Michelin - starred establishments, and Gustav ranks right there in my top dining experiences. Even with a top experience at a restaurant there is maybe one thing that misses, but not at Gustav. The cold and hot dishes, the bread, the desserts, all 5-stars!!! Add the world class service and makes for an experience second to none. I can't recommend Gustav enough. I only wish I wasn't returning to the United States today as I would eat here a second night.

Lunch was great and good value.
Returning for dinner it was very disappointing and expensive sadly.

Beautifully furnished restaurant.

Lunch has a small "main" meal with a salad bar / buffet of good cold food.

Dinner has a selection of cold and warm plates.
Whitefish with soy and spruce was salty and very small portion compared to warm dishes.
All dishes were on the salty side, particularly the Jerusalem artichoke risotto a friend had which had to be sent back for the fresh portion with less salt.

There was also a leak onto my back from the ceiling. Not ideal but not the restaurant's fault necessarily. However, on pointing it out nothing was done to stop it dripping straight onto the tile floor causing a hazard, I had to leave a napkin there to try and soak it up somewhat.

I would recommend the lunch as a nice easy affordable option. I wouldn't recommend the dinner. Dinner was up to €50 per person as opposed to €15 for lunch which had more food.

Amazing service and atmosphere!
Some of the dishes were really interesting and favorable!
For very few it was overpriced and not feeling it had an extra kick.
We really enjoyed the restaurant, had a good experience and a lovely service.
We just expected it to be a bit more for what it stands for.
Our favorite was bread and butter with olives on the side, the cold whitefish and Arctic char were really unique and we really loved them.
In any case it's highly recommended

Very good food and nice atmosphere however the waitress offered us a special menu with 3 dishes for €39. However when the bill came they charged me separately even though I specifically ordered off this menu, when I complained they did not reduce the charge.

Food was absolutely delightful - the complimentary bread basket paired with butter and a sprinkling of fennel salt took the meal off to a great start.

My friend and I were not very hungry, so we only ordered the Jerusalem artichoke risotto and the Arctic char with lobster sauce as “mains” - the waiter insisted that there was no differentiation between starters and mains, and was trying to hard-sell us into ordering more when we didn’t want to. It felt rather uncomfortable.

Overall due to me really enjoying my food, I have put up the rating a bit. Otherwise I felt the overall experience was let down by the service, which was so-so - it took 20 minutes to be served, and then after we sat down, it took another 20 minutes to be given a menu!!
