I got their house special noodles and the broth is very flavorful, they give a good amount of meat and the thick rice noodles are very silky. Quality is very consistent and food came out fast. They accept card and cash.

My friend and I decided to check this place out. We tried the Braised Duck Leg with Wonton Egg Noodle and the House Special Wonton Egg Dry Noodle. The food was decent, and the homemade soybean sauce wasn’t bad, but I was really hoping for a homemade sauce for the dry noodles—since the sauce is the soul of the dish—but no luck. On the plus side, the staff were super nice and friendly, and our food came out in just 10 minutes.

Their house special rice noodle soup, #8, was a delight. I've been here several times and they are extremely consistent in taste and portion size. Prices are reasonable for the portions you get and the service is always very efficient and friendly. Sure it's messy in the TL, but the restaurant is a homey spot with lots of customers and comfortable on the inside.

Things I've ordered:
House special ho fun (soup and dry) - this is the must order here in my opinion, it is full of toppings over the noodles (shrimp, char siew, pork slices, ground pork, chicken strips, fish cakes, beef balls, bean sprouts, pork liver if you want it). I've only gotten the rice noodle version and like it dry with soup on the side. It is well seasoned on its own but you can jazz it up with pickled jalapenos and other sauces that they provide on the table. The fried garlic oil they put in it is delicious and I've never regretted ordering this.
Golden fried fish cakes - about 3 whole fishcakes in each order, cut into half and fried to golden perfection. They are a little greasy but tasty with a nice bounce, they taste great dipped in the hoisin sauce. Served with pickled vegetables on the side (cucumber and carrot) which cuts through the grease perfectly.
Wonton soup - the wontons are just ok, there's no shrimp in it that I could discern and is mostly just wrapper and ground pork. It's seasoned well and comes in the same soup that they serve with the house special noodles.
Beef stew ho fun - this was more soupy than stewy in my opinion, with a strong tomato flavor. The beef was alright and pretty chewy and tough, it would have been nice if they had stewed the meat a little longer to get it nice and soft. The rice noodles don't come with anything else except beef and bean sprouts. It's an ok option but I would opt for the house noodles over this anytime.

The crowds here seem inconsistent, I had to wait once for over 20 mins for a table and it was packed to the gills, and other times I got a table right away and there were a decent number of customers but no wait. The tables turn over quickly though since people are here to eat, not sit around for hours.

This place is one of the best noodle place in San Francisco. I usually order #7 thin or thick with separate soup. The hot soya milk is very good.
The service is fast and the owner is very friendly.  I eat here for almost 15 years.

Vi kände oss som att äta soppa och vi är väldigt glada att vi kom hit. Vi båda beställde anka ben soppa, men jag ville ha min buljong separat. Buljongen här är hemlagad och extremt god. Jag kommer definitivt tillbaka innan jag lämnar San Francisco!

Deras nötkött nudel wonton soppa är så bra och uppfriskande. Perfekt alternativ till lunch. Det var laddat med kyckling, räkor och nötkött. Riktigt bra och rekommenderar.

Jag var i staden med några vänner för NYE och visste att jag behövde något för att läka själen nästa dag. Såg de stora recensionerna för denna plats så vi bestämde oss för att kolla in det. Vi gick strax före middag och det var redan en linje som bildades. Lyckligtvis väntade vi bara ca 15-20 minuter. Vi beställde huset speciella ägg nudelsoppa, anka vann ton soppa, fisk kakor och kinesisk munk. Jag fick inte prova ankanen vunnit tonsoppa men vännerna som försökte det sa ankanen var braiserad snyggt och buljongen "förde dem tillbaka till livet." Husnudlarna kändes som en sådan hemtrevlig maträtt som var mycket nödvändig. Jag ÄLSKAR buljongen! Du kan välja antingen tjocka eller tunna äggnudlar och det kommer med en kombination av skaldjur och kött. Vi doppade den kinesiska munken i våra soppor. Så gott! Fiskkakan var krispig och en stor kombinationsruta med syltad grönsaker. Skulle definitivt komma tillbaka igen!

Bara con jag kan tänka på är att denna plats är kontanter bara så var beredd!

Vi kom hit på vår sista morgon i San Francisco och glad att vi gjorde. Normalt skulle jag beställa Braised duck med wonton soppa men den här gången jag försökte det med buljong på sidan och det var utsökt. Den braised anden har någon form av soja marinade. . . . . prova med buljong på sidan och du kommer inte bli besviken!

Jag hade nudelsoppa med klar buljong var sooooo läckra jag gillar inte verkligen fläsk så mycket men kyckling och fiskbollar var smaskiga. Min vän hon hade anka nudelsoppa med ägg nudlar såg mycket intressant och hon sa att det var så läckert, trevlig service inte gå på rush timmar, restaurang mycket mycket upptagen! !

Läs några raving recensioner på deras nudlar och bestämde att försöka eftersom vi var i grannskapet. Försökte braised anka ben wonton nudelsoppa och det var genomsnittligt. Inget speciellt när man jämförde med nudelhus i Chinatown. Mannen hade nötkött gryta med nudelsoppa och blev besviken. Kan hitta bättre nudlarhus.

Jag har bara en kommentar: prova det, du kommer gilla det. Utseendet från utsidan är kanske inte bäst, området är lite skuggigt och platsen är lite gammaldags (endast kontanter) men vem bryr sig när det bra är riktigt bra och serveras med ett leende. Rekommenderad.

ALLMÄNT: HKMGs wonton nudelsoppa är en mycket bra representation av den klassiska maträtten. Utmaningen för vissa kommer att vara den gritty gatuplatsen på Ellis (från Union Square-området). Rekommenderade alternativa vandringsleder i avsnittet TIPS nedan.

MAT: Wonton nudelsoppa köttfärs står på egen hand. Komplimangerad av semi-al dente nudlar och läckra wontons, du har nästan platsen på maträtten. Vad som saknas är lite mer al dente till nudlarna. Också försökt ankabenet. God sojasås smak men gränsar till torr.

AMBIENCE: Ingen krångel, ren, kinesisk nudelhusinredning (enkla Formica-bord, lite vadderade metallramstolar, etc.). Massor av sydostasiatiska familjer delar en god lunch tillsammans.

SERVICE: Snabbt och vänligt. Te träffar bordet strax efter att du sitter. Mat kommer ganska snabbt.

Jag fick äntligen en chans att prova anka nudlar här och nu är jag hooked! Mitt val är tunna äggnudlar och bräserad anka med soppa på sidan (nummer 6).

Om italienaren lagar sin pasta al dente, gör de här killar det helt i sin väg. En sådan smaklig skål med nudlar, jag njöt av det så mycket utan att lägga till någon sås.

Tjänsten var snabb men lugn. Restaurangen är gammal men väl underhållen och ren. Imponerande.

Jag har varit komma hit för år. Utmärkt buljonger och jag älskar att du kan välja vilken typ av noodle.
