If you’re planning for a trip to Hangzhou, I’d recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt Hangzhou!

The hotel’s location is unbeatable, sitting right on the east side of Xi Hu (West Lake), with sweeping views from my room and a rooftop patio that offers a front-row seat to the lake's beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings were the perfect backdrop to relax and unwind.

I also loved the indoor swimming pool, which is bathed in natural light and kept at a perfect temperature—ideal for a dip no matter the season. It’s a little oasis in the middle of the city.

The breakfast spread was fantastic, with an expansive selection ranging from freshly baked pastries to local specialties and a variety of fresh fruits.

The hotel also offers a range of dining options, from steakhouse to a Michelin Guide-listed Chinese restaurant. And there’s even a mall right next door, making it extremely convenient to shop and grab a bite!

If you’re visiting Hangzhou, this hotel is the perfect place to stay for comfort and convenience, offering a luxurious experience with world-class amenities and breathtaking views of West Lake, all with an impeccable service.

So I heard that this GH is actually a Hyatt and only changed its name because it's so popular, thanks to its great location. After staying here for 2.5 weeks, I can confidently say it definitely lives up to the name of GH. The team at the concierge is truly world-class – they remembered my name, and on the last morning of my stay, they even proactively served me red tea, which I had every time during breakfast. I really appreciated that they noticed this. In addition, the club lounge has a pretty good selection of food, the amenities in the room were very well maintained, and the cleaning staff made my room look as good as new every day – they even tidied up my power cables every time I messed them up. I really felt at home here. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I travel in China.

I specifically booked a lake view room and even checked in early, only to be given a room with a porch with a majority blocked view. I feel very misled by this, as I chose this hotel and paid a premium specifically for its view to the lake as widely advertised. To make matters worse, the staff could only offer us a room tucked away in a corner. The location of the hotel is the more positive aspect, with walking areas to the street vicinity nearby, but my overall experience was severely disappointing due to the room issue. I expected much more from this stay.

Stayed at this hotel and manage to catch views of the lake , hotel is literally right infront of west lake.
The room is spacious , well kept ,there was a sofa sitting area near the window.
Toilet was separate from shower area , and the warm toilet seat is very much welcomed during cold weather.

Had breakfast at cafe downstairs , food variety was pretty extensive and they had local delights such as liver and fried scallions noodles , wanton with seaweed and local Scallion  pancakes .
Their variety of bread , croissants 🥐 really is of good quality .

Only gripe was the water pressure flow is underwhelming .

Location was good.  Right next to Huibin 88 mall and many other shopping places around the vicinity.

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful view of the lake. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay at the west lake. Rooms a clean and luxurious. Service and staff are also excellent! Shopping malls and excellent food nearby as well.

Only caveat is you cannot see the water performance from the room or the grand club. However, it’s just a 1 minute walk outside of the hotel.
