My family and I are vacationing in Paris. Having stayed multiple times at Ritz-Carlton hotels and being big fans, we decided to visit the original Ritz Hotel in Paris. Our plan was to enjoy a cup of coffee and some desserts, but the staff’s behavior left us uncomfortable—they stared at us as if we had asked for directions to Mars.

As we walked through the lobby, we noticed a tall man in a suit following us, treating us as though we were a threat. To clarify, we’ve stayed at similar high-end hotels before, and having someone tail us while we quietly walked through the lobby is excessive.

I understand the importance of prioritizing guest security, but if manners are part of your corporate values and staff training, I recommend an additional focus on professionalism and courtesy.

Absolutely incredible experience at a top hotel.  Elegant public areas, rooms that are spacious and super clean!  Fantastic dining!  I could go on and on!  Definitely a bucket list destination.  Please note, if it bothers you to spend 30 Euro on a cocktail and you complain about the expense in a review, please don’t stay here!  It’s one of the best hotels in the world and not for those on a budget.  Highly recommended!

Rooms are very classic and a bit old not soundproof.. I stayed during the fashion week and it was very disturbing with three security at enteranxe picking up people to ask where you're going or if you're staying here. This is supposed to feel like home but it really feels like I'm getting into an embassy!!
If I'm wearing a suite it's OK to pass and no one ask ... if I'm wearing jeans they stop me. It's really funny.

Tea, pastries, and scones were really good quality and service was quick and efficient! Our server was great and really informative about the tea. However the manager who came by our table today 12/24/24 @5:30pm came off as extremely belittling when we were making conversation about tea time in the US, at first we thought it was a joke but then it got super uncomfortable when he kept talking about how we shouldn't compare The Ritz to the Ritz Carlton in the US. And then later on when we tried to take photos in the hallway not even 5 seconds in he came up to us and told us no flash allowed even though we saw another table next to us take multiple photos with flash on in the tea room? Overall the tea was good but the management ruined a part of the experience for us, he could definitely work on his choice of wording when talking to guests.

My husband and I had lunch here on NYE 2024. It was an amazing experience. I had the chicken club and he had the signature burger. Both were delicious. Will definitely visit again.
