I visited the hotel only for short term. Unfortunately, the lady at the reception had a bad day or I don’t know why she was so arrogant. Not helpful at all.
The hotel is very nice but for this money you could expect the receptionist to be nice to you.

The Grand Hotel Residencia is beautiful. The bedrooms are comfortable. The food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My parents and I have had many memorable holidays at this wonderful hotel. My parents and I are looking forward to staying at this fantastic hotel again in the near future. A big thank you to all the staff at The Grand Hotel Residencia.

What a wonderful experience - my husband and I have just spent a glorious two days (not long enough I hear you cry) and I cannot recommend this majestic hotel highly enough. My travel agent let it be known that it was a special Birthday for me and Grand Hotel Residencia went above and beyond to make it super special!! Thank you from my heart, I’ll never forget the excellent service from the friendly staff in Reception, the Pool Bar, the wonderful Betina, Miguel and crew. Eros and staff at the restaurant, the piano bar and the friendly room attendants. Nothing was too much and I’m truly grateful to you all. You deserve all the accolades, including awards for the excellent food from your hardworking chefs. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This was just an amazing experience, totally worth the price!
The room was huge, very comfortably arranged and perfectly clean.
All the staff was incredibly caring and helpful at all times, doing their best to provide the most awesome experience for the guests.
The pool is big, quiet and constantly kept clean. Also, the pool bar offers great food and beverages at very reasonable prices.
The patio in the evening has a fine atmosphere with live music every night.
The breakfast buffet is the best I have ever tried. You get literally all kind of great food: fresh cheese from all over the world, foie gras and pâtés, smoothies of every kind, incredible hams cut by hand, fish, sardines, yogurts, cereals, oatmeal and rice pudding, all kinds of bread and jams, all kinds of fresh fruit, pain au chocolat and other sweet delicacies. Additionally, you get to order eggs, bacon, sausages in every possible format (even egg benedict!), that are cooked on the spot for you.
The dinner is quite expensive but you get great value for your money, especially in the two weekly barbecue nights, where you get to taste a lot of great food, both as a buffet and freshly prepared for you on the spot.
If I were to imagine a suggestion for this great place that would be keeping the pools open at night (maybe even just a couple of nights a week), as it would be great to be able use them after dinner during summer calima.
All in all, this is probably the best place I have ever stayed at, kudos to all the staff!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
My sister was assaulted by one of the other guests.  Witnessed by lots of other guests who came to our assistance.  Same guest also threatened me in the main restaurant during dinner and had to be removed.  Hotel would not supervise the man and went out of their way to make sure we could not file a complaint with the police (which we did).  An elderly man but who could still throw a punch.  Sister admitted to hospital.   Despite assurances the man would be supervised he continued to harass and threaten us.  Hotel duty manager argued that he had a “different version” from staff.   Other guests came to our aid and approached management.  Guests offering to act as witnesses to the aggression.   So badly let down by management of hotel.  Entire week ruined.    This elderly man refused to speak with duty manager.  That was the only effort they made.

Hotel GM has just responded to my post.   I actually emailed him for help while we were staying at hotel.  Through LinkedIn.   But no reply.  The assault took place on our first morning and he was threatening more after that.  The hotel informed us that said they have a different version but tried to prevent us making a police report.  Refused to call the police,   Then duty manager refused,  has to ask for deputy manager and after meeting her in the morning she came to the pool late in the afternoon to ask “were we sure”.  There isn’t enough space to fill in all that happened!
This man was interviewed by the police after we made the report.  We have police report and guests were interviewed who witnessed second attempted assault.  Guests went to reception (from room 210 and another guest and were told by hotel that this was man who assaulted my sister was a valued guest who had been coming over 20 years and they could not/and would not be doing anything!  I have this man’s details and name.

We were also told by staff that there were complaints about the same man - the previous year.   I think the hotel allowed this to continue because we were three ladies travelling on our own.

Not sure how as General Manager - you could say you have a different version of events.  How low can you go!  See photo!
