I’ve been here a few times with my family and every time the service and atmosphere is great, but the food doesn’t match. We usually do family style with pork chops and chicken, eggplant and peppers, but I’m continually disappointed by these dishes, so I decided to get the burger instead. The patty, though I asked for medium rare, was well done, I had to pay extra for a thin slice of cheddar cheese, and the fillings left something to be desired. I kept thinking that I could have gotten a better burger at a backyard bbq, rather than this $17 one. The fries were pretty tasteless and thick. The eggplant and peppers had a lot of garlic and oil, and not much else. I’m left wanting more with this food. That said, the waitstaff are incredible at their jobs. Very nice people.

Il Pollaio: 27 Years and Going Strong!

I first walked into Il Pollaio 27 years ago, shortly after moving to San Francisco. Since that day, I have enjoyed their food, and my fondness for it has never waned. The standout dish here is the grilled chicken. They truly know how to do chicken right! I always recommend ordering the half-grilled chicken and salad special. It remains a fantastic deal. If grilled chicken isn't your favorite, you can't go wrong with their lamb chops or burgers, either.

Their salads are simple but satisfying. My top pick is the Combination Salad, which comes with beans. When it comes to soups, my favorite is the split pea soup, though their minestrone is also excellent!

The staff at Il Pollaio is wonderful. Over the years, I've seen many great people work there, but a few have been around for a long time, and they are exceptional.
Il Pollaio has been a constant in my life in the North Beach food scene for over two decades, and I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone seeking delicious and reliable meals in North Beach, San Francisco.

Got the whole grilled chicken, combination salad, and side of fries. Grilled chicken was moist and would get again!

Simple wins in most cases - and the sts the case with this gem. I ordered a half chicken and fries, and it didn’t disappoint. Also, for SF a good value at $20. 5 Stars.

Several lunch items interested me, but since their specialty was char-broiled chicken I went with the chicken sandwich.  Huge sandwich, on a big roll, plus plenty of pesto and sun-dried tomatoes.  The 3-Bean salad and steamed potatoes yummy as well

Liten restaurang på Columbus street. Jag vandrade in på egen hand när jag inte kunde bestämma vad jag skulle äta. De menyn är något begränsad och priserna är höga för delarna. En sidosallad och 1/2 kyckling (främst mörkt kött) var $ 16. 95 plus skatt. Sallad servering var stor och bra. Jag beställde combo sallad som kommer med slaw, bönasallad och grön sallad. Det var mycket bra. 1/2-kycklingen var främst mörkt kött. Bröstet var mindre än 1/2 ett bröst och sedan hade det lår, ben och vinge. Servrarna var vänliga och maten var anständig men var inte ett bra värde. Ingenting om upplevelsen har jag längtat efter ett andra besök.

Hade italienska servitörer & diners, mycket vänliga & coola plats. Grillad kyckling var välsmakande, inte torr när den ätes med färsk sallad med massor av italiensk dressing blandad i. Bröd och smör var en perfekt kombination med deras AMAZING soppa!

Helt fantastisk restaurang. Det är enkelt, färsk mat och full av lokalbefolkningen inklusive den lokala polisen. Vi älskade det!

Detta är inte din typiska rödsåsaffär. Med en fantastisk utsikt över Washington Square, spåren av St. Peter & Paul, och lampstolpar dekalerade med italiensk flagga, är stjärnan av showen kyckling, italiensk stil.  - Vi beställde en flaska vitt vin som var kanske $ 22 och gick bra med vår kyckling på en trevlig lördag eftermiddag.

Platsen är mycket liten - cirka 25 eller så platser. Vår server var så artig och mycket effektiv. Jag såg stora tallrikar av kyckling staplade upp vid nästa bord - du kan bara beställa en hel kyckling utan sidor också. Om du vill ha god kyckling i en avslappnad atmosfär och det kostar inte dig en arm och ett ben, prova det här stället som har funnits i åratal i North Beach.

Jag stannade här för en takeaway grillad kyckling och ett par sidor. Detta är en enkel, utan krusiduller, äta och gå typ av plats där du kan få en enkel men bra kyckling. Jag försökte få receptet på marinaden men blev nästan kastad ut. Skojar. Innan Nando kommer, är detta en pålitlig plats för stekt kyckling i SF.

Detta har kommit lite av en lokal för mig när jag inte känner för matlagning. Bra för en ganska snabb bit med alltid färsk kyckling. Sallader och tjocka frites är stora och personalen är alltid välkomna och gör det snällt hemtrevligt!

Lätt att hitta, snabb, super avslappnad, billig, ganska hälsosam, smakar hemlagad, bra för grupper, säker för glutenfri, på MUNI-linjen.

Jag tvekar att med skriva denna recension, eftersom detta är en lokal hemlighet. Den här restaurangen har mycket vänlig personal och bra Argentina stil grillad kyckling. Menyn är enkelt, men delar en 1/2 kyckling och en sallad och pop en flaska vin. Vår första dag i San Francisco och vi var inbjudna här av våra värdar för lunch. Restaurangen ligger på gränsen mellan Little Italy och China Town i San Francisco.

Fick vi talar med ett par på ett annat bord och de sa direkt förbindelse till flygplatsen hade suttit där i över 25 år. Jag älskar lite lokala ställe som har överlevt så länge, det är en bra skylt att maten är fantastisk. Vi gick sedan uppför gatan till Stella's till efterrätt.

Denna triangel av en restaurang är en annan av den gamla North Beach ursprungliga restauranger. De har varit yttra våra grillad kyckling, kaniner, lammkotletter och linssoppa för år nu och det är alltid lika bra som förra gången. Deras tre typer av sallad på en tallrik är en komplett måltid på sin egen och personalen är alltid mycket vänlig. Du kommer att se många gamla stamgäster åt middag här på en daglig basis. Äta med lokalbefolkningen ....

Il Pollaio finns en liten restaurang med enkel mat, inget märkvärdigt men välsmakande. Ägaren får dig att känna dig som hemma. Menyn är inte stort men delen. Grillen kyckling är restaurangen och du kommer inte att bli besviken. Jag har varit två gånger och jag kommer att åka tillbaka igen.

Vi läser detta ställe var bra och vi gick upp Columbus och vi bestämde oss för att äta middag här vår första natt i San Francisco. Skylten utanför ser lite enkel men maten mer än kompenserar det.
