I visited during First Thursday, and although there were a lot of visitors, i was immediately welcomed by several people offering further information about the art and artists and the gallery concept. I was even given the opportunity to visit their new space with an exhibition that opens after my departure.
The art exhibited is very diverse and of great quality. A must-see for art lovers.

I’m from Perth, Western Australia, and was lucky enough to recently spend a brief 3 days in Cape Town. Completely by accident, a friend and I stumbled across The Artists Gallery. We were peering through the windows when a friendly young woman called Eden invited us in to view the art works, even though it was not yet time for the gallery to open. We discovered a large range of excellent art by local South African artists, all well displayed in the large, airy gallery. Eden was very attentive and was able to give us background information on the artists and their work. I liked a lot of what I saw and ended up buying a wonderfully colourful work of digital painting by Ruan Jooste. It’s now at the framers and I can’t wait to hang it in my home, both as quality work of art (I’ve been to most of the world’s famous art galleries and museums, so I’ve developed a pretty good eye for these things) and as a memory of my time in South Africa. Cape Town is a fascinating and creative city, and The Artists Gallery is an important part of that. Thank you Eden for your friendly, professional help and advice, and thank you for following up this purchase with a Certificate of Authenticity. Cheers from a happy Aussie customer!

We had a great time at the art gallery!

The paintings are very special and beautiful. They were painted by some local Cape Town people.
We met the owner, Barbara. She was very friendly, showed us around and told us insights to some paintings and artists.

What a beautiful space in the heart of Cape Town! This gallery is not just art that is exceptional to view but art with soul and with a cause! Though it is small in size, I could spend hours there unpacking the incredible, intentional pieces found in the Gallery! I would love to take any of these pieces home with me.
