Known as one of the oldest high-end omakase places in Korea, Ariake is probably the ultimate destination for omakase enthusiasts. Since their omakase reservations are only available via phone and get sold out in minutes, it was nearly impossible to make a reservation while being outside the country. On the other hand, their regular sushi and sashimi course dinner reservations were easy to get, and I decided to take my family here on New Year’s Eve during our stay at the hotel.

Once we got to the restaurant, we were quite surprised to see that most of the tables were empty. The omakase bar was full, yet it seemed like their regular dinner menu weren’t popular. We opted for their signature Shilla course, which also included steak and tempura dishes. Presentations were on point, and the sushi quality overall was certainly top-notch. Some of the standout pieces include the tuna sashimi and the beef teriyaki, but I couldn’t find any other dishes that could justify its premium price tag.

While their dinner course menu might be great for people looking for a more traditional high-end Japanese course experience, I would recommend getting sushi course dinners elsewhere in the city unless you can snag one of the omakase seats.

It's really good restaurant for business meeting or some meetings which are important and need to be formal.

Good food in good mood with good person.

Ariake is one of the best japanese resturant in Korea. located in Shinla hotel, and they have their own water tank/aquarium, which allow them to serve very fresh sashimi and sushi.

All courses are amazing, but i recommend trying the chef lunch special.
We had the Chef special with sukiyaki and unadong, also had few pieces of sushi that fulfilled all of our needs.
