Perfectly chilled Gewurtstraminer and Uh-mazing Kara Age (chicken fritters) that was so great I didnt mind it burning my mouth!!! The Gyu Amiyaki - Normandy beef tenderloin with ponzu sauce made me go back and restore my faith in Parisian steak... The service was a bit slow, 2 nights I was here, but I didn't care 'cuz imagining the food while waiting made it worth it.

We just walked to a mostly empty restaurant. Like 70% of tables empty. We kindly asked for a table and we got that answer: "The restaurant is full". Is our skin color a problem? Do you believe that we do not recognize discrimination and racism when it's so blatantly displayed? If you are a tourist at Sofitel Paris and consider Benkay for dinner, please consider that you are supporting discrimination and stereotyping by being a patron of this restaurant.

I've been to several tempiyaki restaurants.  This by far was the worst I've been to.  To start with the service was very poor.  The waiter and us had a severe language barrier and he brought us sparkling water when we'd asked for a glass of water.  He then forget our wine until we asked for it a second time.  The cook although cooked a decent meal, he did not even attempt to put on any sort of show or make any attempt to engage the patrons the way other tempiyaki restaurants have done.

Then there was the prices.  If they'd had the exceptional service the prices would had been inflated, but acceptable.  Instead, I just felt ripped off.  The service was sub zero, the prices were a one, the location over the river and the food were good and the only partially redeeming factors about the place.  Avoid it.

Delicious Japanese restaurant right by the Seine river, in a Novotel.

I went there with my family for a diner on a Saturday evening. We tasted a whole assortment of different plates, sushis, soups, beef and fishes... all were delicious ! Along with a delicious wine, the meal was absolutely perfect, extremely tasty, sweetly perfumed, with a very well thought mix of flavors!

As for service, I don't understand why so much reviews complain about it. All the staff was really nice to us, extremely friendly, caring and available.

However, I would say the menu is a little bit expensive for value. Maybe we are paying for the view as well - quite amazing, actually.

You can find better food for 1/4  price. It's a big rip off. Caught the waiter over charging me by €19 on my rubbish steak. €49.00 for a grilled salmon and €10.00 for a bowl of rice. Bye bye for me. Never coming here

Terrible service and very bad food. 50 euro for shrimp tempura which includes only three pieces of shrimp. We asked for a veg only salad and ended up having something filled with some weid tasting fish sauce. Add a water and two cokes and we are now 100 eoros into a menu that we have hardly touched. 

I will update the review once the chicken and beef teriyaki arrive. However, my expectations are very low.

Both the chicken and beef were absolutely terrible. My god worst restaurant i've ever been to.

In case you think im picky, ive been walking for more than 4 hours with no linch or breakfast. I was extremely hungry getting in and extremely hungry going out.

Went two times both times were completely blown off because we were Americans. After waiting 15 minutes to have our drink order taken and seeing tables sat after us already receiving their drinks from the same server we walked out. Thanks for saving us a ton on your over priced menu

Unfriendly staff, exorbitantly priced menu - €160+ per person. Restaurant wouldn't accommodate our party of ten people in the dining room (even though it was empty!) so forced to eat at teppan yaki table where menu is extremely limited. Additionally, the food wasn't even that good, especially for the price. The waiter kept getting my order wrong, I had to ask three times for no mushrooms and they still brought my dish loaded with mushrooms! The restaurant manager made inappropriate jokes and ruined our friend's birthday surprise. All in all, a huge disappointment. Def wouldn't come back here, even if it was free lol.

We were staying at the Novotel Hotel and just arrived. Decided to try this place because of the reviews. Unfortunately we left after 13 minutes of being seated.
So didn't get a chance to try the food. I have the 12 min rule. No service in 12 mins of being seated, I leave. We were waving.... He just kept walking by. I swear its a talent crappy waiters have not to make eye contact. Just make sure you have a lot of time for a meal if you go here.
