Very tasty rum based cocktails. Very big choice of tasty rum. Friendly staff. For non smokers may be not convenient because it is smoking place. No separate table to reserve. The only table they have you will share with others.
Overall experience is very good!

The premise is great and it does feel like stepping back in time, imagine that alcohol was illegal and you stepped into a smoky back room for great drinks. The drinks were fantastic but if, like myself and my husband, you are a non smoker, this may not be the bar for you. The space is small and intimate so when other patrons light up and the staff sell cigars to the rest, the room quickly becomes unbearable. Also note if you want a Zombie, order this first. We had 2 drinks then they refused to serve this drink because it was so strong. I would go back for the drinks but not for the red smoky eyes I’ve had for the remainder of my trip.

On a freezing Berlin night, I found myself making a beeline to Rum Trader—a place I’d heard whispers about. It was late, the kind of late when you know you’re either heading for an adventure or heading home. I rang the bell, and sure enough, a guy straight out of Mad Men opens the door. “We’re full tonight,” he says. “I can recommend another spot.” My wife and I exchanged a look, and I said, “I’m here for your rum Old Fashioned. I’ll stand outside in the cold if I have to.” He paused, then led us to a tiny corner inside.

He served up that beautiful Old Fashioned, complete with an ashtray. If you’ve got asthma or an issue with smoke, fair warning—it’s part of the vibe here. The atmosphere is pure old-school—vintage suits, dresses, the whole nine yards. I felt a little out of place in my jeans, but the charm of the place pulled me in. Even the crocodile-skin water jug had a certain elegance to it.

Every time I’m in Berlin, I make it a point to come back. It’s a ritual now, and I don’t plan on stopping.

A very interesting experience. Cocktails are fantastic. The owner manager runs with a certain style that’s easier to experience than to explain. Just go and enjoy.
PS it’s very small and only holds about 12 people.
