A Wonderful Stay at Hotel Holt – Perfect for a Special Celebration!

I recently spent five nights at Hotel Holt in Reykjavik while celebrating my engagement, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From start to finish, the service was exceptional, and the hotel made our stay truly unforgettable.

The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring Reykjavik. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a blend of modern amenities and classic charm, making it the perfect base for our Icelandic adventure.

Every morning, we enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast, which had a wide variety of fresh options to start the day. The selection was plentiful, with a mix of hot and cold dishes, pastries, and Icelandic specialties – a great way to fuel up before heading out for sightseeing.

What truly stood out was the incredible hospitality from the hotel staff. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. As a surprise, they even sent a bottle of Prosecco to our room to help us celebrate our engagement, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture that made our time there even more memorable.

Hotel Holt provided us with an unforgettable stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik, whether for a special occasion or just to experience Iceland’s capital. Thank you to the amazing team for making our engagement trip so perfect – we’ll definitely be back!

Great location in a quiet section of Reykjavik.  Kevin at the front desk is absolutely the most helpful person in Iceland.  We did not meet a more helpful person during our 2-week vacation in Iceland.  He always was smiling and was willing to answer my never-ending questions either via e-mail or in person.  Would stay here again just so I can talk with Kevin again.

The rooms are nice but the carpet is showing its age for sure.  Our last night in Iceland we treated ourselves to a Suite and had a nice upper floor view and could see the top of the church from our windows.

Breakfast is very good with excellent eggs, pastries, and coffee.  We would definitely add the breakfast option to our stay when returning.

Parking is "free" for guests and nice to have but it is a tight squeeze especially for 4x4 vehicles.

Can't wait to visit again and would put Hotel Holt on the top of our short list of places to stay while in Reykjavik.  We just hope Kevin will still be there when we return.  Thanks for everything Kevin.  Bryan.

This is a great hotel if you want a quiet stay that is not far from the city center. The breakfast buffet was delicious, try it at least once. The staff were very friendly, especially Adonis who was working the day shift. The hotel bar is cozy and a nice place to read and/or have a drink before heading out to dinner.

I stayed one night at Hotel Holt, the receptionist was extremely friendly and helped me to book my transfer to the airport. The room was spacious and clean, with a large balcony from where I saw the Aurora. The location is very good, close to the centre of Reykjavik. I would definitely return if I was in Reykjavik again.

Lovely, classic old work style hotel in a quiet part of town. Stunning bar and lounge with fantastic art - can’t wait for the restaurant to be reopened but walkable to dozens of good places within 5 minutes. We stayed in a Jr Suite with a balcony and it was perfect. Excellent service at the front desk. Wonderful hotel
