You don't expect to find such a lovely place in the middle of... Nowhere! The ladies at the reception were adorable and very helpful. Don't be surprised from the way to reach the place. Is unexpected! Rooms very spacious and with the Italian dressing  charm. The restaurant with a Michelin star is apparently fantastic. (Was full and couldn't get a table)

Top experience in the area. La Fermata propose traditional northwest Italian cuisine prepared in a delicate and modern interpretation. I come here since years but tonight it reached peak culinary excellence. I had veal “face”, special onion with salt, gnocchi with Gorgonzola and veal liver. All excellent. A place to visit while in the region.

If it's the most expensive restaurant in town there will be a reason why...
The first course: superb! "Agnolottini del plin con ripieno di fonduta"
The main dish: "guancia di maiale con purè di zucca", great!
Only some doubt  on apple pie-based dessert: a little too much cinnamon and other strong aroma..
The service is very accurate and quick!

Ristorante La Fermata is a modern Italian restaurant nestled on the fringe of a village in the charming Piemonte hillsides outside Alessandria.

The converted 18th century farmhouse is tripped back to museum-like minimalism; almost a neutral canteen vibe warmed with engaged, friendly service and seriously good Piemontesi eating.

Notable highlights included the onion cooked in salt with a moreish cheese filling, which is the stuff of the best comfort food. The traditional Alessandri agnolotti is refined pillows of stuffed pasta with a meat filling glistening in a butter sauce. A veritably smooth potato gnocchi shingled with gossamer courgette slices in a prawn broth is sublime. The above lays out why La Fermata holds 1*.

An extensive wine draws from all over Italy, but special attention should focus on some superb Piemonte bottles especially the Barbera d’Asti.
