Really pleased with the hotel.
The room was a good size, the shower/bathroom was exceptional.
Bed very comfortable and we had a nice view of a canal.
It's situated about 7min walk from the train station, and there is a water bus stop right outside the hotel.
The cost was more than reasonable also and breakfast had lots of options.
Would definitely stay again.

This is a great hotel a few minutes walk from the grand canal. Close to a water bus stop when going to/from the airport so quite accessible. Great breakfast selection which was one reason we chose the hotel. We got an upgrade to a suite and enjoyed the large space. It could use some updates and minor repairs to wood trimmings but a large bed, sitting area and spacious bathroom are a large plus. The view of the canal outside is spectacular. There are good restaurants within close walking distance and the area behind the hotel is quaint and not as touristy so good for a walk. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay here 10/10. Amazing breakfast, best service we have had in all of Europe. It is close to water taxi stop and train station. Very clean and spacious and most comfortable beds weve ever experienced. The service in this place is second to none.

Hotel Carnival Palace, Venice – A Perfect Venetian Stay

Our stay at the Carnival Palace Hotel in Venice was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel was impeccably clean, a detail that immediately stood out and made us feel at ease. Its central location made exploring Venice an absolute delight, as many iconic landmarks were within walking distance.

The staff were incredible—attentive, friendly, and always ready to accommodate any requests we had. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to our experience and made us feel truly welcomed.

Breakfast was a highlight of our stay, offering a fresh and abundant selection of both hot and cold dishes. The inclusion of freshly made coffees and champagne elevated the meal, providing a quintessential Venetian start to the day.

For anyone looking for a clean, centrally located hotel with outstanding service and memorable touches, Carnival Palace is a fantastic choice. We would highly recommend it and look forward to staying here again!

Our experience at Carnival Palace was unfortunately underwhelming, especially considering the premium pricing and expectations for a four-star hotel.

The breakfast was very limited for vegetarians. While the croissants were nice, they don’t make up for an entire buffet spread largely unsuitable for non-meat eaters. We had noted our dietary requirements in advance, but they were not accommodated, and the response initially brushed it off as "Italian culture." While we understand Italian breakfasts are traditionally lighter, when you’re offering a buffet and charging international rates, you should cater to international guests. We appreciated that Clement later acknowledged this as a service capability issue, rather than a cultural one.

The suite itself had several functional issues. The TVs in both the rooms didn’t work properly and interfered with each other. We were unable to use remotes independently in each room. Complimentary bottled water was not consistently provided. The bed frame was broken at both ends, and although someone was sent to fix it, the issue was only partially resolved. The repair was rushed, the frame was left dirty, and the problem persisted.

The air conditioning also didn’t function properly, and the room would become uncomfortably hot at night. When we reported this, the technician, Shahin, was extremely dismissive—he barely let us explain the issue, handed us his personal phone mid-conversation without context, and stated it was a problem not just with the hotel but "across all hotels in Venice." We were advised to call reception to adjust the temperature manually—an unreasonable expectation at 3am when the room was too hot to sleep.

The biggest concern, however, was a clear lack of respect for guest privacy. One afternoon, a male housekeeping staff member unlocked our door and entered the room without knocking or any indication that service was required. There was no sign on the door requesting housekeeping, and we had not contacted the front desk. He left abruptly without explanation, and shortly after, a female staff member entered to ask if we needed housekeeping. This kind of unannounced entry is unacceptable in any hotel and left us feeling uncomfortable.

To their credit, Marco and Clement at the reception were very helpful, and we appreciated their effort to assist us when we raised concerns. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with the rest of the front desk team—most other receptionists were standoffish and indifferent. There was a noticeable lack of warmth or basic courtesy, and staff often didn’t acknowledge guests walking through the lobby.

We travelled all the way from Australia and chose this hotel expecting a comfortable and well-managed experience. What we received instead felt disjointed, unprofessional, and far below the standard suggested by its awards and reputation. SUGGESTION: THE AWARDS DON'T REFLECT THE EXPERIENCE (DON'T BE SWAYED).
