The location by the canal provides a romantic atmosphere, perfect for special dinners.
The dishes are carefully crafted with authentic French flavors. We tried the onion soup, which was exquisite, and the Dutch mussels, served with a spicy sauce made from a delicious fish broth.
The wine selection is excellent.
The service is attentive and professional, making the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended.

I would like to give 5 stars to this place but cannot since they charged us for water, what is shame in Amsterdam where tap water is free in every restaurant. The food was very delicious, the interior is extremely beautiful and unique, it’s good example of Art-Nouveau style. Service was good and sitting next to the canal is really nice.

Great little place with excellent service. Small lunch menu with delicious options.  Overlooking the canal in a quintessential Amsterdam neighbourhood. A place that invites lingering with lovely wine!

Great food, great location, great service. Sunmy weather, a great canal view and good food! We had Onion soup, ceaser salad, enrecote, mussels and a chocolate lava cake accompanied by a Sauvignon Blanc and a rose. Wine was perfect! Onion soup had great flavor, a bit over seasoned but still good. Ceaser salad was a different take and flavorful. Entrecote was cooked perfectly! The mussels were good, a bit strong on the cumin flavor but still very good. Dessert was baked perfectly supported by a mocca ice cream. Definitely will visit again.

A cosy restaurant in the Art Deco style. We entered the place through the side entrance, which concealed a beautiful Art Deco bar. The restaurant itself has a cosy atmosphere and overlooks a canal crossing. The staff is young, very attentive and friendly. They seem to enjoy working at De Belhamel. The food was excellent. I had French onion soup, which I had not had for ages, and it was great. My companion enjoyed a carpaccio served as a roll. Main courses were mussels and ravioli stuffed with pumpkin, both excellent. The wine list is extensive, but we decided to follow the staff's recommendation for wine by the glass - a wise decision. The dishes come at a price, but are well worth it. I highly recommend a visit to De Belhamel.
