In my opinion, one of my best fine dining experiences ! Out of all these 1-2-3 star Michelin star restaurants that I have tried so far, this was definitely the best value for money. Can’t fault the service, enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, nice chats with the front of house lady and the chef. Food wise, they well accommodated my sister’s requirements. I can taste the hearts going into it! Every dish tasted nice and had creativity. Even the sidekick- home made bread was very impressive! And also the flow of the whole menu was nice, I mean it’s a common fault I find a lot of fine dining places make: each dish had its own character but they don’t go together. I certainly felt this menu was working really well together. Oh forgot to mention, the wine collection was also splendid! Will definitely be back!

We went for the 5 course tasting menu which was fantastic. Flavours, textures all beautifully en pointe and cooked to perfection. One of the best meals I’ve eaten this year (and there’s been a few!)
Excellent wine list and the service was perfect too. Despite the distance from London we will absolutely return in the New Year.

We should celebrate restaurants like this because they are now a rarity. Very intimate setting coupled with very attentive and good service. The food in the kitchen is definitely worthy of a Michelin star, with several standout dishes such as the monkfish with bouillabaisse.

If there was one thing to improve- the red wine is served at room temperature rather than 18 degrees.

I hope they keep going, there is a lot of talent from this team!

This event took place in Autunm 2022 so I don’t know the situation now - as none of us has gone back to dine there since.

I had booked a table for 4 around 3/4 weeks prior to the dinner.
This was a thank you dinner to our kind foodie friends and they chose this place.
Upon arrival, we noticed that our table was placed where we had to stare at the bright lights from the kitchen and some untidiness by the kitchen. (Please see the attached photo.) The kitchen door was left open. We thought this would spoil our evening at this Michelin star restaurant so we asked politely if there was anything they could do, to which they simply replied no.

As far as I am concerned, the view, environment and atmosphere are as important as the food itself in a restaurant. Especially if they claim to offer fine dining. We were very surprised that they had no hesitation in making customers sit with that view in sight.

I paid around £500 for our dinner and drinks for 4 of us.
There was no compensation offered in response to our complaint, no discount, no complimentary drinks, which again showed that they thought there was nothing wrong in making customers sit where we sat.

Was their food so memorable and excellent for us to risk to sit in that terrible seating area again? I’m afraid not. In fact, I cannot remember what we ate that night. I can explain why. It’s because I have eaten so many excellent meals elsewhere since. To be fair, even by the end of that night, I hardly remembered what was served - simply because it was not that memorable. All we now remember is the bright lights and untidiness which spoilt a fine dining atmosphere.

Absolutely brilliant experience at Hide and Fox. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the waitresses were superb. We went for the 8 course taster and there wasn't a single thing on there we didn't like. 100% will be coming back again soon!
